I dunno. I've seen Bravely Default spammed the hell out of everywhere and I'm not sure I'm interested. I downloaded the demo and I got two seconds into it before I was like "meh". It's also yet another turn based and I was wanting a button masher. Maybe in the future I'll look into it.

I didn't really like Four Heroes Of Light (started, but gave up before long), and Bravely Default is basically a sequel to that. I tried the demo, but the battle system isn't so great IMHO.

Four Heroes was cute and fun. Roselhort got me to play it. It was like a Dragon Quest inspired Final fantasy, which I like more than most Final Fantasy games. I can see how people didn't like how simple it was, though.

For 4HOL it was the lack of story that made it meh. BD didn't really click with me either, partly because of the battle system it inherited from 4HOL. Everyone and their dog seem to be addicted to it though, so maybe I'll give it another chance. I still have the demo.

The gameplay is deeper than you think, actually... the demo doesn't give it alot of justice with its lack of jobs and abilities..

but the brave and default mechanics are definitely a solid change of pace for a risk/reward system

i recommend it, but if its not your cup o' tea, its not your cup o' tea... no need to feel pressured or anything =P

And continuing on that sword in abyss, DO NOT GET RID OF IT BY ANY MEANS. Trust me.

and...well... if youre familiar with rpgs... a uniquely named/designed sword that does less damage than every other weapon in the game? thats a huge flashing neon sign screaming "I'LL BE USEFUL LATER GUYS! I PROMISE!"

I was thinking of restarting my play through of tales of the abyss actually. either that or re try fire emblem shadow dragon.

Oh I'm glad to hear that several others have played this game then. So is it a good game, then? I remember Symphonia having a A- storyline (I'm probably one of the few people in the world that liked the main character). How's this game rank?

In my opinion? abyss has an A++ story, but it takes a bit to develop. Oh, and another tip, remember to look all over the world, you might find quest lines and items you wouldn't have known about otherwise.

my file on abyss is like 32 hours in? completely blind too... so yeah... i PROBABLY have less experience in it than all y'all here

on that note... ive played 3 tales of games a good 20-30 hours each and just....stop for whatever reason...and its never because i get bored or anything, i just... stop
