I wish for a Bejeweled for DS. The real Bejeweled I mean. I already have Puzzle Quest and ZooKeeper.

My fiance enjoyed Mass Effect. The last Civ game I played was Civ IV... but everytime I get gunpowder it's like "Booo, start over" because gun powder makes everything boring.

I just acquired Lords of the Realm II and WOAH I forgot how much I totally love this game. I'm playing the Europe Map with control over Italy, which is second only to Spain for starting positions. The downside is the idle villagers in Sicily because there's no wood, coal or stone, only blacksmith... and 66+ bows or pikes per turn only works when your wood production is high enough to support it.

Although I'm terrible. Rather than install and use the CD, I just downloaded an abandonware copy so I wouldn't have to drag the disc around with my laptop. I soothe by guilt with the knowledge that I have a purchased, perfectly legal copy that I acquired back in '96 when it first came out.

Civ Revolution is as micro management as the PC versions. That is where I loose interest. You basically stop at tanks, and modern infantry.

I am of the mind that I don't care if Bob the Peasant is happy or not I have an empire to run. I shouldn't have to tell Bob to take Nancy as a wife to rase a bunch of kids.

Civ is, to me, all about the micro managing of individual cities (at the difficulty levels that matter!) and of other nation relations/techs. Gunpowder time is about when my games end (don't get much farther than Grenadier-era units, for instance) usually.

In other news, wasting way too much time + a lot playing Street Fighter IV. Also, Star Ocean 4 in a few days OMG etc.

In my pacifist way, I enjoy the city management and expansion more than fighting people. More of Sim City-esque and less of the "bang, you're dead" ...

The only fighting in Lords of the Realm II I really enjoy is the seige. As defense, I just jam my Royal Castle full of archers and pick off the enemy diggers. As offense, since the range of a catapult is further than the archers, I just pick off the staircases from far away, trapping the archers either in one tower or, if that's not possible, at least keeping the archers from accessing the towers while my diggers go to it. Swarm in the pikemen, follow with the archers and viola. Crunchy victory is delicious <3

To be fair, warmongering is the easiest route to victory. Doesn't mean you can't get a Cultural or AP* win. Or, hell, Space Race. Just need enough units to make you not an easy target (or good relations) and maybe early warring (i.e., Axerush!) to get a good footing.

*AP win is so lame and easy that it's more of a "haha :(" than something to be happy about. But that may just be me >>

I liked Space Race and Cultural victories. I did a balance of good relations and measured responses... bit like old-school American isolation. Except then you look over and I'm quietly dropping bombs on your cities.

I've only played Civ 1 and 2, and FreeCiv. They don't have the cultural or other ways of winning, only world domination and space race. I have Revolutions on my way too long games-to-buy list. I loved peaceful victories in the demo of Galactic Civilizations that I played once.

I'm not so much for these kind of games, I usually get pretty bored with management. The only ones that I've played that had something to do with managing were LucasArts' Afterlife and Bullfrog's Theme Hospital

I liked Civ Call to Power. I had created a game where I was on a semi large island with lots of resources. By the time I had met the other Civ's I was already into gunpowder and they weren't even to the middle ages yet.

The Russians declared war on me a few years later and I unvealed my newest unit. The space marine, and hover tank. Let's just say they didn't last very long after that.

I always did like playing Master of Orion better than Civ. I could win that many different ways. I usually did prefer just to steamroll over people. I really did like one game were I had the smallest number of planets but the biggest population of any of the races. When they voted for the galactic ruler it took all of the other races to vote against me to keep me from winning by default.

I'm playing Front Mission 2 on my old ghetto Playstation. I just finished Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness, and now I'm going to play the rest of the series in order from Front Mission 2 through Front Mission 5 (including Front Mission Alternative and Gun Hazard). I don't actually own Front Mission 5, however, so I had to order it. But it'll be awhile before I can even start it, so it's cool.

I'm also playing a hanafuda game and a pachinko game on my iPhone whenever I get bored and I'm not at home.
