Whilst I really haven't had time to game lately, I picked up FTL in a Humble Bundle last week and decided I need to start letting myself unwind a little (my stress levels have been off the charts lately, and I have finally hit the limit of how long I can do absolutely nothing but work), so I've since been playing it a little before I go to bed.
I really like the game, but I do have some problems with it. Most of them are just issues I personally have with rougelikes in general though.
My biggest qualm is that the RNG's influence is just too great. My first and second run were failed largely because it screwed me over horribly (the first probably could had been salvaged if I had know what I was doing at the time, but still). I don't feel that this is something that should be combined with permadeath in a game which lacks persistent saves. It is mitigated somewhat by the extremely short length of the game, but it is still an issue.
Also the Rebel Flagship's difficulty is very much disproportionate to everything else in the game. On my third run I breezed through most of the game, got way too messed up by its second phase and was completely overwhelmed by the swarms of boarders in the third. Once you know how it works it isn't an issue, as long as you have a Cloaking system (this probably isn't the case on Hard; I can't say for sure as I've yet to try it), but going in blind you have basically no chance.
That said though, the combat system is extremely entertaining. Not everything is self-explanatory or logical (manning your remote door control subsystem magically makes your blast doors stronger... really?), but once you actually figure out how everything works it really is fun.
So far I've cleared the game with the Kestrel, Engi, Federation and Zoltan cruisers and am looking forward to using the Mantis Cruiser tonight as I have yet to even use a Crew Teleporter and am interested in giving a boarding focused play style a go.

Gender-restricted armour is never a good idea in any game ever.

But my guy can't wear this skimpy bikini-armor!

It's when the equipment is the best in the game and has stats assigned to them when it bugs me the most. Even if they could just make an opposite-gender equivalent with identical stats, it would be less dumb but I would not complain.

Games that let you use the best armor while looking like you're wearing other armor is the best solution. Some MMOs have this as a pay-only option, but it's still the best way to handle things, in my option.
Unless of course you can't get the best armor if you're a girl, like in Hong's case. That just blows. Out of curiosity, which game is this?

Skyrim as a mage again with some random mods and going through the dlc.
...Twice, with a little thing coming out on November 11th called Perkmus Maximus, that changes... a lot. Skyrim Redone 2.0, as it's by the same guy and does the same thing. Basically changes the perks to allow much more customization and interest. Like Shouts are leveled by Speechcraft, which also makes followers better. Traps, craftable Dwemer machines for you, adds an entire potential armory (spears, katana, halberds, FISTICUFFS). All you need for enhancing combat.
This is what I've been looking for.
Probably wait a bit before playing it with that, just to make sure it works with everyone else.
Other interesting mods:
-Falskaar. Apparently new area with lots of playthrough.
-M'rissa. Did you know catgirls exist in Tamriel? This adds a lorefriendly one.
-Inigo, also a khajiit. Apparently somewhat hilarious, haven't gotten him yet.
Both the above kind of sad because I just did the Erandur quest. Good God that Dunmer is a destroyer.

Noted, I'll try those out when I'm done the main storyline. Thanks!

Playing Conception II. It so far has been ultra easy. I hope it eventually presents some type of challenge.
