I started playing FFXIV again. Today I decided to try and get back in the mood for Scholar in Duties in preperation for tackling Haukke Manor, so I just jump into a Duty Roulette, assuming I'll end up in something like Sastasha or Tam-Tara. ...I end up in the Sunken Temple of Quarn (I think that's the name of it), which is the highest I have and it's also 8 levels higher than HM. Needless to say, tomorrow I'll probably tackle HM and continue with the story after I work more on my hunting logs.

Still playing Icewind Dale II. Iyachtu Xvim is a nasty nasty opponent since my party is caster heavy with only 1 melee and he resists nearly every spell. Granted my Druid and Cleric are also decent ant melee, but I didn't want to risk them drawing attention to the boss' melee since it would be much harder keeping them alive.

Anyway, funny thing about him. He's weak to lightning damage. He also has the Chain Lightning spell. Unfortunately for him, since only my Barbarian was in range of it, he would toast himself with each casting. He ended up killing himself in fact! So much for the godson of Bane.

Also I'm playing Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX. Kingdom Hearts 2 is a lot easier than I remember, and feels like a walk in the park compared to KH1. Maybe I should've played on Proud or Critical instead =/

I plan on checking out Birth by Sleep once I'm done with KH2. Never really played before, so a lot of it will be fresh to me.

Tingle and Young Link are the DLC characters for the Majora's Mask pack. That's just, ugh, why no Skull Kid?! I can see leaving out Happy Mask Salesman, but Tingle and Young Link in favor of Skull Kid, especially when we have 8 other Links in the game is just, gah, denget.

Also I want Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX now for some reason. I'm pretty sure 'cause its got Gumi. And you all know how I am about them green haired girls. :o
Go, Skyseek Tharsis, Armoroad, and Lagaard Divisions! + Asgarla Division!

Playing around with MH4U demo, I kind of like the semi-nerf towards Longswords... The reason being is that I'd rather have a much longer lasting Spirit Bar depletion than have to worry about getting off another Spirit Combo before it has run its course.

So far only have fought Tetsucabra with Longsword (around 8 min), Sword and Shield (around 8 min), Dual Blades (around 9 min), Insect Glaive (around 15 min), and Charge Blade (around 16 min). I did find that the SnS, compared to the others, was going trip happy on him though.

^_^ That's an element I enjoyed in all the games myself. No rush. Sometimes you aren't even sure what you're doing anyways. You suddenly get a key, for example, and can open a door and suddenly you are backtracking and going to places you've never been on the map... do you continue or do you return to the steady progress downwards? Do you fight a big boss, or do a quest, or... something else. And just WHY are you exploring the maze anyways? What is there really to be FOUND?

Oh and while you're at it, just imagine your party of five members and what conversations they must be having right now. ^_^ What is their story?

Yeah... XD enjoy

Took down Gore Magala again last night with the Insect Glaive and got even better kill time than with Longsword. If you're having trouble finding the red buff on him, I was getting it from around his face. I'm curious, Garrett, are you only doing online or are you having trouble solo? As the online the monsters have much more HP than they do solo.

If you're having trouble understanding the newer weapons in MH4U's demo:

That person had a decent weapon tutorial back on 3U. Supposedly he will eventually redo all the weapons again.

Since I became a fan of the Ys series due to the games available on Steam, I purchased a used copy of Ys: Ark of Napishtim for my old PS2 a week ago and I'm having quite a blast (decided to change my avatar because of that, lol)! I'm glad the Nightmare difficulty is pretty challenging as always.

Think I've settled on Insect Glaive and Charge Blade as my go to weapons when I get MH4U. If one of them ends up not working out as well as I'm using them in the demo then I will probably fall back onto either: Dual Blades, Sword and Shield, Longsword, or Switch Axe. Been having an absolute blast playing the online portion of the demo the past two nights.

Dear Square-Enix:

I know that FF7 is the most overrated Final Fantasy title to ever grace this franchise, but that doesn't mean I want to listen to the soundtrack every time I go on a Quest Melody in Theatrhythm. Seriously, I can handle maybe one song, but having upwards of 5 different ones and sometimes just repeated variations of the same song... Fuck off, there is other music in this franchise and much better music that came before and after.

/rant

On a side note, I'm probably playing that MH4U demo way too much. Also, picked up "Fantasy Life" about two weeks ago and "Shantae and the Pirate's Curse" a week ago. The world they built in Shantae, graphically speaking, is outright beautiful; reminds me, in a way, of good old Metal Slug.
