I finally got MH4U. working on my first armor upgrade, decided to use insect glave for serious missions, and long sword for lesser missions and gathering runs.

i've pretty much stuck with Artian X as my armor now. i mean is WAY too flexible and has 3 really nice skills built in! (and 2 other amazing ones not QUITE at 10, but theyre there!)

Awaken +10
Guard boost +10
Stam Recov Up+10
Crit Draw +5
Sharpness+1 +6

and 2 open slots on the Helm, Chest, Arms, and Waist. 1 open slot on the Legs.

This is probably annoying, but where can i get paralysis sacs for the genpry mail? i need to improve my armor, and i want that armor

If it's Najarala, it's capture only. (10%), plus a few shots in the reward box depending on quest.

From Gendrome, breaking the head has the highest payoff (39% in LR, 40%[x2] + 35%[x1] in HR). Capturing yields higher chances as well, but the body carve chance isnt that much worse. (35% against 39% for LR, 16% against 25% in HR)

Thanks. i'm new to the series with this installment, so i might ask for help a bit. as a little status report, i have upgraded my armor to alloy, and have gotten myself the Large bone longsword (i'm really early in the game) until i get the nessesary items to upgrade my bone staff IG. i've got a lot to learn though, as i keep dieing to great jaggi whenever i try (once)

I've been playing a lot of mh4u lately. I'm not really the fastest player (as I've had the game since release date) but I recently made it to hr3 in the gathering hall and finally got the Gore Magala urgent quest in the story stuff. Gore's the first monster to totally DESTROY me in single player, I think I might be a bit under armored though... (level 2 Nerscylla set with decs to buff health and remove that bad hunger passive and a Kecha switchaxe)

Your armor sounds good enough to me. But I also spend almost all my time trying desperately to NOT GET HIT. (Gunner armor does not have the best defense). If you want really good defense, though, I hear that Tetsucabra is pretty boss.

I finally fought (and beat) Gore Magala in single player today. Still HR2 in multi, though.

Well, i conquered my first great Jaggi (accomplishment for me at least) and now i'm diddling around trying to figure out how to do online. doubt anyone will be doing these low rank quests though.

I'm still really liking the longsword and insect glaive. using the insect glaive, i managed to kill the big monster in the first expedition. i'm working on gathering materials for a set of gunner armor, so that i can practice using gunner weapons. Unlocked Guild quests as well, so i might try one out after finishing my gathering

one thing that made me happy before i went to bed last night was i went on a simple mission to kill some little monsters in sunken hollow, and a Tetsucabra decided to take me on. i had it running a few times, and it just barely killed me, but i felt accomplished how far i got in it with noob skills and Jaggi armor (with seltas waist.) The next thing i'm sure i need to work on before trying to use the bow and arrow is to ACTUALLY USE THE KINSECT. i've been completely ignoring it, and i feel like using it will help me out a lot.

Alright, then i'll practice on my favorite practice dummy, the seltas. the first one. I actually just ran through another expedition, and actually got some hands on work with extracts with the Yian Kut-Ku. it helped out a lot actually.

Ideally, if you can't get the golden buff, you want to at least acquire the red and white essences. White gives you better movement speed and Red gives you better attack speed.

On a side note, I've changed out the Black Gravios piece (was missing the Pallium) for Zinogre Mail X and I still get the flexibility. When I went to go get the few missing materials for the Zinogre Helm X he kind of went crazy and gave me 3 Skymeralds in one go.
