Re: Games you are playing
So you know those kinds of games that you really want to get when you first hear about them, but you don't have the right system? And that when you finally do get the right system, it's been long enough that you have forgotten?
Anyway, I got The Room yesterday, and it's been pretty good. I finished stage 3 this morning.

WOW GOG YOU'RE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO NOT LET ME PRE-DOWNLOAD WITCHER 3, AREN'T YOU?
Limited disk space when trying to download and install on a hard drive with 800+ gigs left. Uh-huh.
EDIT: Apparently the internet had a conniption about me trying to download from the GOG site, and caused the rest of the parts to cancel while at work.
While EVERYONE ELSE IS PLAYING...

Re: Games you are playing
So I bought Fire Emblem Awakening today. My sister has been hounding me to get this game. A little backstory:
I bought Fire Emblem Sacred Stones when it was initially released having never played an FE game - only was entranced by the demo videos in the store - and I've never played one since. I was into it enough to get close to the end. Now my sister, young at the time (middle school, I think), has only ever shown a passing interest in games (she's more of a casual gamer and actually as the years have gone by we've discovered our tastes are just differnt). She asked me about the game at the time and I told her "meh, it's alright. Kinda hard. I doubt that you'll like it (secretly thinking: or understand how to play it... ok, yes, I'm mean).
She insisted. I caved in and handed it over to her.
Oh, did she prove me wrong. To this DAY she LOVES everything FE: SS. She has played a few other FE games but none that have caught her attention cuz the problem is she loves building the social aspect of it and class changing and crap like that, but the other games different offer that much of a platform. She bought herself a 3DS recently and FE: Awakening with it.
I think she is more obsessed with this game than she is SS. Dear lord! ^_^
I played the demo this morning. Enjoyed the cutscenes. Feels like it's got a decent story. Ok, so I bought it. o_o I can already feel my sister's eyes on me. I came home and she was immediately ranting to me about what to make my Avatar and who I should probably focus on and not and, I dunno... I get the sense the next couple of weeks are gonna be something like this:

^ I've spent more hours on considering eugenics than on playing the game.
Throw Donnel at things and the lower difficulties just give up.

Re: Games you are playing
donnel has the lowest base stats out of anyone but when he levels up he has the chance to just level every damn stat up
pair him with fred who does something to boost stats while leveling, i dont really remember, but the point is if you stick with it he will skyrocket in power and be one of your main fighters throughout the game

Re: Games you are playing
Villager has terrible caps which Donnel can easily hit with his amazing growths. Once you get Underdog, I'd reclass him. He is easily one of the best 1st gen characters.

Re: Games you are playing
^ Though it's easy to make Underdog nonfunctional on characters without access to 30-capped classes like Manakete (not Donnel) or Dread Fighter (DLC).
As a father, Donnel has a rare trait that is very valuable to three specific matchups, and not so much for others.

Re: Games you are playing
I have delved into The Darkest Dungeon.
I played a bit and then started over because I put points into the Abbey instead of roster size (already getting 4 per week). Kind of a mistake. After the first dungeon I came back with a second full group with a healing Cultist. But starting over didn't get me that Cultist, and it now has me with a nearly mad Vestal in the third week. And 4 Graverobbers for no discernible reason.
Wait, hold o-OOOOH GAME, I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE.

@FE talk:
I just got Donnel and you've told me nothing that my sister hasn't already told me. You're going to have to try harder than that to up her FE-teachings. Though for most of it she is holding back until I can go through and learn on my own.

Re: Games you are playing
Oh God, I tried going in without a vestal and had a near party kill in the first battle.
Soon as I get back, pair of them. Finally.

Picked up Story of Seasons -> Swimming Tutorial -> Character jumps into the water in a dress and swims around and no one acts like there's anything weird about it
Okay.
Okay.
