^ When the game was new, some people became unable to gather certain data because their Luck-builds prevented non-critical attacks. :3

Re: Games you are playing
I've been trying to get my SNES JRPG fix so I decided instead of playing Chrono Trigger I'd play Live-A-Live. Absolutely no regrets, the game is absolutely amazing, it's easily in my Top 10 Favorite Games Ever, at least for while I have it fresh in mind, my thoughts of it might diminish over time but until then, WHOA DAS' A GUUD GAEM.

II bought Warrior's Way.
It doesn't feel like it deserves its price tag, but I still like it. I get about 10+ StreetPass Plaza passes a day for the next two years and I'm all done with Find Mii so I may as well take advantage of the traffic.

Warrior's Way is ok, the only lame part is the grind for when a battle requires way more troops than the previous one. Still has nothing on Flower Town

Flower Town was fun. I'm still playing Ultimate Angler, but upgrading my best fishing rod is so costly and I get so few homepasses lately that it's really slow going.

I was really looking forward to Ultimate Angler, but the thing is, theres always a random chance that you get nothing. With something like Flower Town or Monster Manor, you can plan it out so that every single streetpass amounts to progress, but with Ultimate Angler, theres always a chance that you dont catch anything. You can carefully research the fish and see what colors you need, mix them all together, get this hunk of bait that's guaranteed to catch what youre looking for, and then pull up a fucking boot. Super frustrating.

Wait... wait wait wait wai wai wai wait.
This is a THING?
So I'm in a retro sorta mood, remembered this game decided to try to find an emu and rom for this NES classic that I loved dearly, and my search gives me a steam page which is THIS?!
.......... O_O my computer is getting kinda old, though, and overheats frequently (though the fan works). I wonder how resource heavy this is going to be. If it's worth it. The reviews are hit and miss iwth it. Seem to be "if you're a fan, you'll love it. otherwise..." and... trust me, I'm a fan.
I'm so torn right now :O

Re: Games you are playing
So I caved in, bought it, and downloaded it. I played it for a good 15mins and am pleased that it is not heating up my computer to anything beyond what it can handle.
*drools* Oh dear god. This... this is amazing. I've only gotten through two rooms but it seems they've kept enough to be nostalgic and familiar but changed enough that I think it's going to trip me up. I'm tempted to set it to maximum difficulty because dear god the nes version was unforgiving. It took me nearly half a year to beat it back when I was ten or eleven. Yes, this predated even the legendary days of internet and walkthroughs.
*trembles* o_o I'm so... like... amazed right now. That they revisited this very old, very retro game and recreated it with brilliant 3d graphics! At the same time I hope it doesn't draw away from the "imagine your own story" atmosphere the original had. The original, if you looked at all the right places and read certain texts it gave you enough of a dialogue that you got a small piece of a fantasy world that it excited you (or well... at least it did with me). Clicking on random walls or locked doors and looking at them while it might have seemed a waste of time would suddenly randomly say something like "built by the enslaved mountain dwarves" or something fascinating.
^_^ I'm geeking out here.

Re: Games you are playing
So, I'm going to geek out again about this game because this has just highly amused me. One of the MOST frustrating things for players with Shadowgate was that intense difficult and the fact that EVERY DAMN THING YOU DID resulted in death.
Except for psychotic little me... I enjoyed the death descriptions and all the fun ways there was to kill my poor hero. "oh? there's a demon? ... Let's hit it and see how it kills me" and the death descriptions were very... cold yet humorous. "Dragon fire engulfs your body. Not even your best friend could recognize your burning body" Or I remember one from later on when something eats you it says "there's not even enough left of you to feed the birds." And I think one about something burning you alive and giving you an "eternal sunburn" (things that have stuck in my mind over the years because, you know, I'm just sick like that).
I was quite concerned that they wouldn't capture that in this newer version. ^_^ I'm pleased to say that... I am quite wrong. They have indeed. I just experienced a death that still has me laughing hard. I wish I could shake the hands of these people. <3
So far I'm very happy with the $15 I spent on this game.
It is a little much for my computer. I find that I have to play at about 30min intervals with maybe 5-10 minute breaks in between. Somewhat annoying, but I will persist. It's odd, my dad's tower computer can't even run the game there's such a lag. Very odd for his computer.

So uh, I'm new here and there doesn't appear to be any sort of introduction area so I guess I'll start here.
Yo. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Bro. BRO. This is some DANK stuff right here let me tell you. Visually stunning. Amazingly complex gameplay. Great sound. 11/10. Good stuff.

Re: Games you are playing
Shadowgate is one of those games that I always kinda wanted to play but never got around to it. I suppose if there's a revamped version out then that only adds for more reason for me to play it, yeah?
Also, not to steal Maxine's geeking out thunder, but I beat Live a Live. It's phenomenal, I can't believe that it hardly gets talked about, it's not a perfect game, but in all honesty everything that this game does well it does WELL. I can't recommend it enough, it never got a western release but there is a very good translation patch floating about if you look it up. Seriously, even if your like me and normally don't do emulators, just make this ONE exception, I find it very hard to believe you'll be disappointed.

Re: Games you are playing
^_^ YOU SHOULD!! ... I'm so totally stuck right now and... I think I "know" what I need to do but the final solution to the puzzle is alluding me. The answer has to be somewhere. I've overlooked something somewhere... I'm sure of it. ><
The game definitely has enough to feel so very familiar but such a wondrous new experience it's proving. ~ I've spent all day playing (in between other things I've needed to do today) and haven't gotten any writing done. *sigh* putting it up for the night. LOL

Re: Games you are playing
I've been playing a mix of Dark souls and EOUII. stuck on 3rd stratum boss, and stuck in blighttown in dark souls.
I used to be a Fighter like you, but then I took a phoot to the leg
