Hrrrm, I picked up Myst 3 today out of boredom and for the need of the sense of that escapism that only this game seems able to give to me.

Anyways, ^_^; my copy of the game was purchased back in 2001 - the day of release.

Obviously there were a few subtitle glitches and this and that here and there that I heard they released patches for - of course I never installed them.

Now, I have my 10th Anniversary DVD edition (purchased 'cause it comes with Myst, Riven, and Exile just happens to be on it, too.) Hrrrm... I was curious to see if there were any "differences" but when I popped the game in, it picks up the current version I have on my computer.

Do you think I should uninstall my old one and re-install this newer one. Benefits are: it's newer, probably has patches equipped in it, and only requires one DVD disc being popped in (as opposed to four discs). Cons: Mine is a first edition of the game and I know it RUNS and without glitches.

:\ Maybe I should.... I'm interested and it would cure my bout of boredom today.

I had six units attack the boss, a general... a unit characterized with impervious defenses but abysmal speed. All of them had hit rates above 85% except my pirate, who had 71%. Not only that, they all had weapons EFFECTIVE against the unit to the point where all it would take is two hits to land. Well, guess what? He dodges all but my mage and on his turn crit my mercenary at full health at a 3% crit rate. Dead. T-T

Oh boy...

I picked up Avalon Code and also set aside 7th Dragon because it is boring me. Avalon Code is frustrating, because it COULD have been a great game but the code management aspect of the game is so poorly implemented that playing often becomes a chore. Oh well. Everything else is pretty solid, so definitely give it a try if you have a lot of patience.

I sort of used to like the Atelier series, but then Gust began designing them as slightly more traditional RPGs, starting with . . . Iris no Atelier, I think it was? I didn't like that one as much as I liked Violet no Atelier.

I've repicked up Izuna1/2 (I can't decide which I wanna play more)

And am planning on going back to EO2.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon still has me in its clutches. It's kind of a bummer that the Elysian Whip (NAME IS A TOTAL COINCIDENCE), an item needed to promote Pegasus Knights into Falcon Knights instead of Dracoknights, can only be bought on the online store on specific days of the week/month. Caeda is already level 20. I don't want to wait. ;-;
