I was talking to Miles about how we both really want the Dark Spire. I probably won't get it until I manage to knock my backlog down a bit, or possibly just borrow it from him whenever he gets it.
I replaced my DS today! Miles (works at GameStop, is my friend) was a huuuuuge help... and tolerated my inability to make a decision. I was close to getting a DSi, but in the end the price difference just really clinch it for me. Yes, having a shiny DSi would be fun, but I only paid $20 to get a DS lite.
Here's what it looks like:

Yup! It's the red Mario DS!

Link, oh Link. Why do you need to YELL so much? ;-; I can understand if he's actually angry but even when it comes to chopping grass and attacking helpless stuff he strikes them down with great vengeance and furious anger!
On that note, who is your favourite Link voice actor? I had this discussion when I watched someone play Ocarina of Time earlier today. I think Akira Sasanuma (Twilight Princess Link) had the right voice. The accent is much more present but it has a sort of firmness to it that I like.

Yeah. Too many silent protanists from Nintendo. Granted, Link is still the only one who hasn't officially spoken in a game series that's still active. Mario KIND OF has. Samus has had both text and speech, still opening up on that front. :D Not counting Kirby's Avalanche (Masahiro Sakurai would never agree to a trash-talking Kirby) Kirby might be with Mario for the "kind of talks" category, only not as severe. Not like that matters since the series died after Sakurai left. :[
On the contrary; isn't it a part of Link's charm? I mean, I would have liked him to say something the pre Wind Waker days but ever since that game, I can't help but feel Link says a thousand words with expression alone. When he's down, I'm sad. When he's happy, I'm relieved. After Link speaks... that's it. He has spoken. The barrier is desroyed. No going back. If Link does talk then it better be good. >:[

I love silent Link, don't get me wrong, but, honestly... :\ I think it would have added so much if he had actually expressed how much he misses Illia when she was kidnapped or argued with Midna. It's just... I think it would have added more depth.
The expression is ingenious and no other game I've played so far can ever mimic it but, seriously... I think they are missing out on some storyline opportunities.
