I started a fresh file on FFIII DS. I don't know what party I want! Last time I had Knight/Dragoon/Bard/WhiteMage. I don't want to do that again. D: Everytime I envision a party it starts to look the same. Playing without a bard late game seems so awkward for me. I want to try bringing a Red Mage instead. Don't know what to do about everyone else. Geomancers are easy to bring along. Hmm...

is still swallowing up way too much of my time to do much else, but the other day I finished Time Hollow (DS). A very nice game graphically, the theme song was good too, but the gameplay was indeed a little too linear. I'd love to see more games like this that allow more exploration.

Yesterday I started The World Ends With You (DS). It has quite a steep learning curve; so many controls and stuff you have to learn. It looks like it will become interesting though, if a little complicated. I don't think players need to have every little stat available to them to enjoy the game. Not everyone is a numbercrunching min-maxer. I wish there was an option to have the original Japanese voices with subtitles. Most of the dialogue is text anyway, and the game is set in Tokyo after all.

I also got Electroplankton recently. Such a fun and pretty toy :) And I finally found Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan too. Looking forward to playing another rhythm game.

UFF3 Type B (Japanese FF3 NES romhack)

UFF3 is a Japanese FF3 NES romhack that improves the game's balance. Type B rebalances the game to similarly match the FF3 DS version, and incorporates changed sprites of several classes, including:

Warrior
White Mage
Red Mage
Dragoon
Mage
Geomancer
Summoner

And perhaps more, haven't checked.

This is quite hard, I am L21 and I am debating whether to go kill Hyne or go grind some more.

Quite frankly, you can pretty much neglect the minor details on stats (that is, what brands get a bonus/penalty in a section). Just remember to raise Neku's Bravery via Food as much as you can so he can wear better gear as you go through the game (or for the comfort of knowing you can, if you want, put Neku in a dress).

As for controlling both screens ... don't bother. It's not a big deal unless you're on Ultimate against enemies that require you to have the Puck to do damage. Other than that, the controls are simple enough that you can accomplish watching the top screen for what to do once you've learned your current pins.

[spoiler]Exception being post-game decked out Joshua for his JESUS BEAM in which case you'll need to watch him so you can jump (fly) and aerial chain forever to trigger it.

...well, Joshua in general actually requires more effort. His branches you can't just "WHEEE MASH?!" like you can with the others.[/spoiler]

ps, having stats doesn't mean it's catering to min-maxers~ All TWEWY tells you anyway is HP, ATK, DEF, and Bravery ... so ...

...well, unless you mean the pin stats in which case there's a lot of details there, many of which are related to TIN PIN SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER (which is an annoying mini-game). It's nice to know how often you can use certain pins though (such as, say ... Healing ones) or the cooldown for some pins so you can have better combos set up (it'll suck, for example, if you have a lot of single shot high-ish cooldown pins and have you stuck doing nothing for awhile due to cooldown periods).

Just a warning, there's a few pins of awesomesauce that require you to either find someone else with a DS and TWEWY or you can merely go into Mingle mode. This is possibly min-max territory as a few of these pin evolutions have a different (albeit weaker) path but some pins only evolve with MPP as opposed to BPP or SDPP and you can max out their PP and be unable to evolve the pins.

Here's a if you care. Just saying for when you get some pins that list that they Can Evolve but don't after you've maxed their PP.

Let me know if you do decide to get it! I can try to provide numbers, map-help, secrets, hidden items, etc etc. I'm just not sure how you feel about old-school SRPGs like this. I could see how somewhere like my fiance would hate it, but then again me and him hardly ever agree on what makes a game fun. (He's described "that maze game" as pure torture before)

I love Rotom's type (Elec/Ghost) but why the fuck did they make the stats on him suck :( Low HP and low Def, SpDef make it a bad wall (50, 77, 77) but it doesn't have the SpA (95) to make it pack a huge punch. Seriously, Rotom's types would've made it a great Wall (immunes Fighting, Normal, Ground) and Will o' Wisp + Reflect would've crippled Physical attackers. Nothing special in the SpA department outside of probably Sleep Talk sets due to how frail he is. Ugh. Such a great potential and it's all wasted. DAMN IT :(

Guess he functions as a halfway between Dustnoir Wall and Gengar but ... that's where Spiritomb fits as is, though Rotom is indeed like three times faster than that. :( He just looks better than those two and I'm tired of Gengar from use in EVERY DAMN GEN.

[spoiler]Can still try to Wall with a Will o' Wisp / Reflect / Thunderbolt, Light Screen / HP: Grass / Shadow Ball set or go Rest / Sleep Talk / Thunderbolt / Will o' Wisp to attack.[/spoiler]

Misdreavus (well, Mismagius) fares better with superior SpD, SpA, and Spe with a Calm Mind set but ... I'm still sad over Rotom. :( Why pretty much force Gengar as the Ghost Special Attacker :( The garbage HP and Def makes it super vulnerable to Weavile and Tyranitar though, but I suppose Gengar is just as weak to them (plus the lower SpD) >>

[spoiler]Calm Mind / Sub / HP: F / Shadow Ball probably. Sub due to how frail for the CM set-up, HP: F to tackle whatever is sent to kill it and SB for STAB.

Could probably just do the normal Gengar set of SB/TB/FB/HP:F (or Explosion) I guess.[/spoiler]

HM Slaves are annoying. Why couldn't they just make them all as awesome as Surf.

I see Elite Beat Agents all over the place here. Still haven't played it!

OK I think I have my FFIII DS party setup. You know, I had just remembered my file when I had Dragoon/White Mage/Geomancer/Geomancer. Beating the game was lol.[s] I was thinking of Red Mage/Dark Knight/Geomancer/WhiteMage since I hate Dark Knights and rarely give them a chance. I WOULD LIKE IF I HAD SOMEONE TO REPLACE THE GEOMANCER BUT WE ALL KNOW HOW BADLY OTHER FORMS OF MAGIC SUCK IN COMPARISON I WOULD USE A SCHOLAR BUT I'M FINE WITH THE RED MAGE THANKS.[/s] Disregard that I still hate Dark Knights. I'll probably use a Ninja instead so I can wield two weapons from Eureka.
