I'm more interested in Emil x Marta than either of them separately. Well, her design reminds me of a younger version of Tear. Plus her voice actor (either JP or English).

...oddly, that didn't save Colette in my book as I can't stand her as a character and Nana Mizuki being her JP voice doesn't save her any. Hrm.[/spoiler]

Marta became a better person late game and I really loved the good ending, but I still can't forget the way she was for the greater sum of the adventure. SO ANNOYING. x.x I don't hold it against the writers since that was intentional.

Tales Heroines seem to have this "thing" about them where they personality flip exactly 67% of the way through the game.

I have no fucking idea why.

I actually liked Colette, though. At least more than Lloyd. Not as much as Presea or Sheena.

I was being kind of blunt with that one post. It's a cute image. :P

I saw the image and it reminded me that A) I like Tales couples B) TALES OF HEARTS PLZ and C) Where the fuck is my Tales of 10th Anniversary Soundtrack?

Colette is one of the few heroines I couldn't stand. I have no idea what it was (willing to bet it was her terrible "I WILL BE A SACRIFICE" personality for god knows how much of the game).

...

This reminds me that I still need to finish Vesperia fuck I'm lazy. >>

I know a lot of people who hate her. A lot of her qualities were unforgivable until I realized an important detail: she's stupid.

I mean, on another level. She's really dumb. Not just "hehe blonde moment" dumb. Always dumb. It makes her attitude more forgivable as well as her overly righteous tone at times. Of course it falls in nicely with her being a klutz and all. Both Lloyd and Colette are really stupid so they make for a nice couple!

Haha, true enough. I hate stupid people though (pretentious elitist douche) so it didn't come off as sweet or adorable to me. More of a "getting rid of you will be awesome." Cute, sweet, naive characters I can deal with (Estelle of Tales of Vesperia) but Colette was just ... bah.

But, yeah, she works perfectly with Lloyd, which is sad since Sheena <3. Oh well.

Rutee (Tales of Destiny) and Tear (Tales of the Abyss) are probably my two favorite Tales heroines still.

Castlevania Judgment is just as bad as I expected. If Ayami Kojima was doing the art and it were 2d, it'd be an amazing game.

o.o What happened to my post? To sum up what I said...

* Repeated that this could have worked if it was 2d and had better controls.
* The character design is great, just doesn't give the Castlevania vibe. Sypha's design should become canon.
* I like that it doesn't feel like a fighting game.

*shrugs* As a fighting game (or whatever the fuck Iga called it), it controlled pretty damn bad. The designs were alright, albeit not Castlevania-esque what-so-ever (and reeeeally looked like a Death Note rehash on some), so I can't take too much issue with it; probably would've been best if Obata had at least tried to stay in line with the Castlevania designs but ... meh.

Pretty much the game boiled down to: is it fun to play? And, to be honest, no, no it wasn't. "Merely" changing the game to a 2D Fighter and not the whatever it was he called it (Action Fighter? Brawler? Versus Action maybe?) is a complete game overhaul though. If we're going to go ahead and overhaul it to a traditional fighter it could work ... assuming logical Fighter controls.

The whole Action Fighter/Versus Action/whatever idea was stupid. If he wanted a versus game, just stick to something that works. Iga's recent works (really, nearly all of the non-portables) are pretty bad though so ... I can't say I'm too surprised.
