...ToV for the PS3 better get localized, pre-order bonus included. It probably won't happen though because Namco seems to have some kind of a grudge against North American and Europe. Just look at Tales of Symphonia. They localized the GameCube version (though Nintendo might have had a hand in that, so I hear) but not the PS2 version of the same game.
On the other hand, they do apparently want to focus more on the West. I'll believe that when I see it.

Tales Games are pretty much 1 in the US per 3 JPN releases, though we at least get most of the console titles (missing Destiny 2 and Rebirth). The portable releases are a bit of a miss though as we're missing Tempest, Innocence, and Hearts. Doesn't look like we'll get the second Tales of the World either. Makes me wonder if we'll get Vs. and Graces >>. Graces probably but Vs. I don't have high hopes for.
I don't think they've done a single port release in America (barring Eternia making it to PSP). None of the Destiny remakes, the Tales of Destiny 2 PSP remake, the Symphonia port, or the Rebirth port. Sadness T.T
I'm not expecting ToV PS3 if only due to the additional voice work probably being enough to warrant not going back to doing it. Fucking ... Playabale Flynn! The loli Pirate I don't care about!
T.T
TEAR COSTUME, though I can't stand Estelle >>
And Europe is just fucked as far as Tales is concerned. Has Vesperia (360) even released there yet? Pretty sure it was a June '09 release.
Edit: While on the subject of Tales I guess, taking bets now that Sophie (Heroine for Graces) will end up being a tsundere loli. Already know she's fitting the amnesiac role >>
No idea when the Trailers shown during the event are to be online T.T Shots can be found at .

*shrugs* Localizing isn't cheap (voice actors T.T) so I don't blame them. Just wish there was some consistency behind it (or logic).

Localizing can't be that expensive, at least when compared to the cost of actually making the games. I mean, just look at Atlus! They localize incredibly niche games and they're obviously making money off of it somehow! They can expect another hundred thousand or so sales from it anyway, so they're most definitely going to get their money back, so why don't they just break down and do it? Geez...
Maybe one of these days I'll just try to learn how to read Japanese. Or something. I wonder if that "My Japanese Coach" for the DS is any good...

There's a lot of games that Atlus pushes out that aren't expensive to localize (little to no voice acting or third-rate voice actors). They have localized some other titles that probably costed a bit and tanked (Spectral Force, anyone?) as well.
*shrugs* Who knows. I don't really get the logic behind not bringing over the Tales games when they all seem to sell fairly well in America (at least enough to justify porting them). Who knows. It isn't "cheap" but I doubt it's to the point that they'd be unable to recoup it (and profit still) off of it. Back to the point of Namco hating us~
And, on that note, another round of "oh look, games that will never ever come here" because I'm sad and pathetic like that!
HIGURASHI COOKING MAMA
No words.
LAYTON IS SUMMONING A PERSONA?!
I have no faith.
So Konami is publishing the Ryukishi07 + Peach-Pit game? Neat. OH WAIT.
OBJECTION!
You mention Atelier Rorona in your list of games you don't think will come here...however, I counter with...THIS!
http://www.siliconera.com/2009/06/12/at ... n-release/
I realize that is not technically official, or concrete evidence, however it is enough to set aside some doubt about this game coming over. Further, an NISA rep has let slip in the past that Atelier Annie for the DS will be making its way over to the US eventually. No release date but it will be coming. Finally, there is the matter of the comments made on that siliconera news item. Though, again, not concrete, I believe there is enough evidence here that the possibility of Atelier Rorona making it stateside cannot be ruled out in its entirety. Furthermore, there is also this to take into consideration...

Sakura Wars. Another title that no one believed would ever make it to the US. And yet, here it is. On its way over not only for the PS2, but being ported over to the Wii as well. Furthermore, you have titles like Fragile finally making it over as well (granted, by XSeed not NISA). I think its too soon to rule out Atelier Rorona...

Hmm, I thought none or almost none of the Atelier games had been translated?
Also, you forgot the Hidamari Sketch DS game.
As for My Japanese Coach, for the price it's not bad. For the price. It has some flaws and misfeatures though, so if you want to learn Japanese you're better off getting some textbooks.
