I was used to be tossed aside so hey...
Actually, sounds like my real life relationships.
I still need to play CoH :( Lack of PSP fail etc. I need to see the game to figure it out but it's more of a Wizardy clone than EO so it's probably some Xd6 function so it is rather balanced, just depends on how the damage function itself handles that result (i.e Y + Xd6 is less annoying than Y[Xd6]).

...

Either way, RNG is the devil :(

Edit: While I'm at it, Devil Summoner 2 with Raihou is back in stock at Gamestop at a slightly discounted ($5 off) price.

Also, a ton of Devil Survivor footage ... for reasons I can't figure out.

EDIT OF AMAZING:

YEAH.
Knee-jerk reaction out of the way, reality sets in a bit more. Best Buy selection is rather limited to recent and big name titles and those at Gamestop/Gamecrazy aren't HUGE PRICE REDUCTION OMG so it's a rather small discount. Still, it's a nice bonus for getting a New Game and actually supporting devs at the used price, you fucking heathens you.

no offense used game buyers

Though I hate you if you have a high horse about anti-piracy and buy used.
I've decided to replay EOII, this time with the cookie-cutter DH WM R / G H party. I've never really used it, except for the fifth stratum in one playthrough, but that that was when most of the important skills were already unlocked and useful. I just want to see how that party is playing through most of the game.

Actually, I've always found that party somewhat annoying in that the hexer has to constantly curse enemies to keep the War Magus's, along with the other party members', TP up. Oh, well. It's worth a shot.

As opposed to having to leave to keep everyone's TP Up?

Or using items. I find having to keep on using the curse-and-transfer routine, especially when the war magus doesn't have particularly stunning TP, rather grating. At least you don't have to worry about that with the medic or anything. While the party has to keep on leaving due to a TP shortage, at least I'll only have to worry about surviving.

It's not the smartest or most effective strategy, but I favor medics over war magi.

I'll get this out of the way now, I really don't mind people hating the team I devised but it irks me a bit to have faulty information involved with it (or at least flawed reasoning). Just saying that now since I'll probably sound super defensive from here on out~
Medic vs War Magus TP is a silly thing to bring up as it's a 7 point difference at 70 in the Medic's favor (183 vs 176; 411 vs 404 at 99 without TP Up). You really can't complain about the WM TP pool as compared to the Medic as, for all intents and purposes, they are equal (and nearly equal HP, if I recall [10 apart, in the WM's favor], though the WM has almost twice the VIT).

I don't get the point of complaining about using Cursecut -> Transfer. It's optional. You can get through a stratum without using a single TP outside of Healing (and hell, you don't really need that either with enough consumables) with the exception of FoEs/Bosses. If you're stopping to constantly transfer TP, you're probably doing something wrong. I'm sorry but "I'd rather have a Medic because then I can just run out of TP and not worry about doing something to fix it" is a silly reason. Hell, you can extend this reasoning to not wanting a Healer at all as that's more TP to worry about when you can just use items.

It takes no time to Cursecut to full (Hexer Corrupts and next turn WM Cursecuts) and it usually only takes one hit. Beyond that, one or two maxed Transfers is enough to handle any TP issue for a character. Unless you're using 40+ TP a fight per character, I can't really imagine the need to constantly use Transfer. Even then, I can't imagine handling that TP expenditure rate with Amritas / Take items.

Even without Cursecut -> Transfer, the fact WMs Heal before the enemy acts more than makes them all-around better than a Medic.

blahblahblah Medic heals better fuck you you're dumb for this. ~80% Heal Efficiency between the two and you'll probably overheal most the time anyway with either option. You also have to play the guessing game with Medic (and/or always spam Salve) since you never know who will take damage. War Magus can at least heal the turn after the enemy deals damage to top everyone off (or just whoever needed health, or noone at all if the FoE/Boss missed/didn't do damage) before the next attack lands as opposed to just always casting Salve in case you need it since the heal will land after the attack.

And Combat Reviving is better suited for Item Revive + Heal. High ranked Revive is better, sure, as only one character is needed but it also means the group takes two enemy attacks before a heal is cast, as opposed to 1 for the WM Item Revive + Heal option (technically 0 as you'll go into the attack at full health). DH Nectar + WM Salve II will go before pretty much every enemy in the game (Muckdile is about the only thing I can think of); DH Nectar + Medic Salve II/Salve III will revive before the attack and then heal after it, risking the recently revived dying again. Or, as mentioned, Medic Revive and then Salve II/III next turn means you take two turns of damage before healing, which risks more deaths.

I really don't care if someone wants to use a Medic over a War Magus. That's cool your game whatever. I just don't like the conclusion coming from illogical reasoning.
Oh, I didn't know the TP difference thing, sorry. I know most of my logic concerning my healer preference doesn't make sense. I understand your reasoning.

I'll probably regret this, but, in regard to your last sentence, wouldn't that mean you wouldn't like the conclusion to use a medic no matter what because the reasoning would always be illogical, as you already established that the war magus was superior?

And I never said I hated your team, just that I preferred others.

Hate is a strong word but I tend to just use strong words without care. "Disapproval" I suppose. I dunno. It gets a lot of negativity and mostly for stupid reasons. I don't care if people don't want to use it or anything like that, just as long as the reasoning is solid and not flawed/wrong. The reason I spend my time figuring out game mechanics is so people can make proper decisions based on how things actually work, not off of assumptions.

As for Medic, I'll admit I don't see much reason in using them as in pretty much all occasions they are the inferior Healer choice. Preference, "RP", or simply favoring them for Revive/CPR/Dispel is fine, albeit I find the Revive rationale a bit weak due to the prior mentioned Nectar + Heal option. I don't even see much use in them in a Combat role, since the WM does similar damage with better survivability. It's just raw Healing output that is overkill and other options that aren't that useful/have better options.

Though, I'd say Medics are easily the better backrow option, although the WM buffs are nice.

I know the desire to do things the hard way; when I made the group, I was expecting it to be hard mode to be doing it without a Protector or Medic. Ended up being the easy way to do things :(
Didn't mean to sound "OMG DO IT THIS WAY" or anything, was just an issue of "I don't get this complaint it makes no sense."
In other news, still playing Soma Bringer a lot for reasons I'm not sure of why over and over and over again.
