Put down Scribblenauts to try and finish Professor Layton; I picked up Diabolical Box and really want to get started on it.

You know, this is why I really love the DS so much. There are just so many games that I want to play, and they're very "Non-traditional" or "non hard-core" (ie: not just running around to beat/shoot stuff). I guess that makes me a "casual gamer" despite how much time and money I plug into gaming. I just really prefer games that don't require super-fast button pressing/reactions and games that have non-kill objectives. Hence why I vastly prefer a turn-based RPG and despise "real time events" in which OH MY GOD HIT THE BUTTON NOW HIT IT OR YOU DIE oh shit you're dead. GAAAAAH noooo.

As for the console wars... *shrug* I like Nintendo. I'm not ashamed of that. They're the company I grew up on. I'm a little disappointed with the shallow variety of games for the Wii, and I feel part of the problem is that Nintendo needs to step-up and encourage/develop a greater variety of uses for the wiimote. You have the DS which, yes, there is a touch-screen, but some games don't make sure of the touch-screen or just use it for basic, optional controls ... I wish there was a little more of that on the Wii. So far developers seems stuck on WiiSport clones and mini-game shovelware, and I feel part of that reason is that there is this huge pressure to use this WAYCOOL motion control when, really, 90% of the time I'd rather just hit a button. This is also because I'm lazy. But anyway, I still like Nintendo as a company. They make quality hardware and I always get the sense that they "take care of" their customers whenever there is a problem/issue. When my DS broke it was way out of warranty, but I was still offered a cost-effective solution by a very friendly person whom I was able to reach swiftly and easily by phone.

Another of my big complaints about mainstream gaming is the complete abandonment of multiplayer... and by that I mean two player co-op using one goddamn system and TV. Online multiplayer, in my opinion, has ruined multiplayer for everyone. I get that it's probably easier for the developer and that it's popular, but I'm someone who would love to play some co-op with her fiance and it frustrates me that there are very few games that support it. WTF guys. I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't want online features/multiplayer!

Anyway.

TL;DR I love my DS

Online multiplayer ftw. Why? Splitscreen is ugly, ugly, ugly. Local multiplayer is fine and removing it is a little "huh what?" at times but, to be honest, I'd just rather not play splitscreen when I don't have to.

That and trying to play, say, Madden with a buddy is hard when we can screenwatch plays. We look away, sure, but it'd be easier to not have to do that step.

I keep seeing Layton/Luke and my brain is like NO STOP NAMBLA GTFO and it is very confusing.

Pretty close to beating it. Good times. I haven't had to look up a single puzzle online and I've beat all the puzzles. Although I did ask my fiance for help on a couple.

On my Earthbound playthrough: got Kimi and beat the Mondo Mole. Currently in Winters with Smpsn and trying to be psychotic and defeat enough Spiteful Crows to collect Cookies to sell for the T-rex Bat. I've never done it before... always get tired of it at around $200 dollars.
