OK, now I'm playing Final Fantasy IV and Dragon Quest III. FFIV is great but horribly flawed in certain areas.

Katamari is a pretty trippy game, but it's fun. I have to be in the mood to play, but it's worth it. The music is quite strange, but interesting enough.

Hrrrm, Zeta at my Gamestop I picked the game up for $20, unless you're talking about the one for Xbox360.
They had other copies there, so I'm sure they'll be able to replace it. This time, I'll be sure to take it in my hands and examine it thoroughly instead of just letting the guy hold it up and me taking only a fleeting look for just big scratches. My CD looks like someone took a tiny flame to it and just melted the CD in two small spots. It was actually my dad who spotted it before I did. Me, I was totally perplexed since, while it had tiny scratches, my copy of KHI looks worse and it still plays perfectly. So I was like "wtf... omg, did my PS2 finally decide to give out on me?!" (I slid Persona3 in just in case while dad was looking at it.)

Lately, I've been playing Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis....I haven't really gotten that far in the game yet, but so far, it's okay....nothing really special as of yet. But then again, I've only been playing for 17 minutes, and in that time, there aren't any battles or missions or anything yet. XD

The PS2 Katamari is dirt cheap; the 360 version was priced as a full game ... I'd just get the PS2 one since half of the appeal of the game, imo, was the fact it was so fun AND so cheap.
Edit: Actually, looking at Amazon, the 360 price is now $20 too instead of the I think $60 it was when it released o.O.
Mana-Khemia was pretty fun but I was a fan of Atelier Iris and Ar Tonelico; doesn't hurt that I quite like GUST's art style. That said, it DOES start off pretty damn slow and, like most their games, I found it pretty ridiculously easy.
And, totally unrelated:
Haha, I just started Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Well, sort of; finishing Lucky Star then that and then probably my backlogged--...is 3 episodes a backlog?--of ZnT's 3rd Season >>
Just found it funny since it's like the third time I glanced at your sig and went, "ohey, I just watched that."
@Persona 3, Maxine
I'm really liking it. I've roped my BF into watching me play it at night before he goes to bed... which 'yay' since I like spending time with him, but he's a bit of a "Backseat player" occasionally.
Akihiko is total <3 though. >_> I'm sad I can't make my character flirt shamelessly with him. I'm excited to beat this before Persona 4 comes out.
Right now I just cleared the 2nd story and am waiting on the next full moon for the barrier to drop. I'm playing on easy mode so it's really fun :3

@Katamari Damacy
When I bought it new it was only $20. I think Zeta has to be talking about Beautiful Katamari for the 360, which I think was 40 new? Maybe 50. The sequel, We Love Katamari, was $30. If you can find it and can afford it, Maxine, I really suggest picking it up, especially if you like the first one.
Katamari Damacy is one of my favorite games of all time. I fondly remember playing constantly it in the dorms instead of studying. It's also a game that BF and I both played, so it was something we had in common when we met. >D I beat his high score AND fastest time for the final level. One of rare times I'm better at a game than he is.
Of course when the 2nd came out he promptly schooled my ass -_-; I STILL can't beat some of his scores...
It's also one of the rare games I've been able to hook non-gamers on. My friends and I used to have drunken Katamari plays. It's so convenient that the levels are 5-10 minutes long so you can easily swap turns. And it's fun to watch.
I think the music amazing overall. I'm certainly more fond of some songs than others, but it let's you pick the music once you beat it.
I hope you can get it replaced.

copy-pasting from another forum:
Okay two individual playthroughs I'm referring to here.
Vanilla FFL2 - I haven't done too much aside from stat grinding, so my Human will be able to do at 900+ damage at LEAST with the Xcalibr from Final Dungeon, since my Robot will probably be armed with two Gungnirs and two Sun swords. Or something of the sort. STILL trying to get P-Blast for my Mutants since Hime's getting the Psi Gun. Running a party of MutantF/MutantF/Robot/HumanF
(neo)FFL2 with Monsters - A hack done by a GFAQs member, based on Amuseum's neoFFL2. It aims to rebalance the monsters and give it a higher difficulty. He succeeded. Very well. It's very well done and I'm running a party of MutantF/Monster/Monster/Monster. Since it's based on Amuseum's neoFFL2, his items and stuff were incorporated too, making the game a very enjoyable experience with monsters. No longer do Beetles suck total ass! Expect a review of the top tier monsters once I finish with this.

Personally, I enjoyed P3's "one more" feature and it was one of the saving graces of me being able to get through the tiresome turn-based strategy (I think you guys remember my opinions on turn-based over real time). As for easy over normal, I don't see where the fact you get a choice to do the battle over as opposed to re-loading the game makes much of a difference. Either way you screwed up and it's typically 'cause you brought the wrong guys with you. If I wasn't so "reeeeh?! Easy modo?!" I'd probably pick it, too. Hard mode has no interest for me.
@Kimiko & Akihiko
I loved him, too, but personally, I'm a fan of AkihikoxMitsuru.. The school trip scenario happens to be my PARTICULAR favorite. You'll see why when you get there. :3 I'm not going to ruin anything for you but I'll recommend you do it twice.
I think, though, ironically as annoying as he is, I prefer Junpei over Akihiko. Is that weird?

I always feel so sorry for him! GANBARE, JUNPEI-KUN!!
E- maji? Easy Mode? Kimo-i Easy Mode ga yurusareru no wa shougakusei made dayo ne! Kyahahahahahaha!
I don't think that there's much difference between Easy and Normal mode...I think you just get these items that revives you when you die or something.
About Akihiko
Really? I didn't really see much Akihiko x Mitsuru going on....saw more Akihiko x Shinjiro. XD I guess I should play the game more. Still on the Wheel of Fortune boss. I HATE THAT BATTLE. It doesn't help that I'm massively underleveled either.
Can't find Katamari anywhere. Must get.
