Moved on from Civilization: Revolution. It's the same game I've played numerous times already, except this version has peaceful ways of winning. That's good, because I like exploration and improving my cities without waging war all the time.
Moving on to Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia. I'm a little worried that the platforming will get very hard at some point, but for now it's kinda like Commander Keen or Gods, except with Konami style art.

Just picked up Chrono Trigger for the DS. I really should have played this game years ago.

So, in Winters bashing me up some crows to get that sweet TRex bat, and suddenly the phone rings. It's my dad, asking if I'd like to take a break! HA! I don't even have a receiver phone, and he's not my dad! Pretty funny.
I have $300... just $400 more to go. *cries*

Your Backloggery tag still says you're playing Scribblenauts..
Re: Castlevania: Uh oh. So much jumping

And I just found out that dying means Game Over. Why can't it be like Avalon Code? There, dying just meant you got set back to 3 health points and 50MP and entered the current map anew. Now I will have to start the Monastery dungeon all over again. Yes, that's only the second one. I said I suck at platform games, didn't I? I just know there is going to be jumping at just the right moment, on tiny, moving platforms, while being attacked by overpowered enemies. ;_; Why can't games like this be nice and friendly?

castlevania is not a platformer, it is a Metroidvania
I don't think you can even die by falling in that game, it usually just takes you to another part of the map
also does kimiko like metroid

I've only tried one Metroid once, a SNES one I think (emulated of course). I got stuck on the 'run from the monster's lair back to your ship' introduction because it was f*ing timed.
What's the difference between a metroidvania and a platformer? That's what I call games like Commander Keen and Gods. Castlevania is the same. Lots of jumping around and fighting stuff while being shot at. I like exploring the maps and finding out the story, but the 'jump at exactly the right moment or you fall all the way back down' thing is so frustrating. Combine that with 'if you get hit one time too many you have to start over not just this map but everything since the last save-point' and it gets this close to me giving up right away.
