Easy-mode has half damage (lower HP and DEF too, I believe), the ability to continue instead of "Death is not a hunter..." Game Over screen waaaay too many times, and more EXP after battles. More or less, the combat is about half as hard, if not less ... though outside of Monad, you can pretty much "ooh, weakness I win!" every non-boss fight so it's not a big deal.
Enemies may also have a stupider AI and you get crits more but I'm not sure on that >>. I know Hard Mode has increased Compendium costs (ridiculous amounts) but I forget if Easy had a lowered one (I don't think so though).
Akihiko
They're a fan favorite (non-yaoi) pairing I think and the undertones are there ... but in the same sense, they've also "been together" for a relatively long period of time so it's possibly nothing.
Then again, the line you're looking for is:
Akihiko: "...wait a minute... isn't Mitsuru's Persona strong with ice? If my Persona is another side of me ... and ice is my weakness ... is it just me or does there seem to be a connection there?"
...so the game isn't too subtle if you read it that way. Then again, the game also shows that he's pretty much "under" her control, for lack of better words, throughout the game so it could literally be that he's "weak" to her--he can't stand up to what she says ... which sort of fits since he's otherwise headstrong.
Akihiko (ENDING)
In the Bad End, however, they're all distant as they never really had much to go together in the first place. I suppose it's probably irrelevant but, for the most part, they're not really close at all if it wasn't for SEES so take that how you will.
PSH! Whatever, Kaining, Akarshi et al. Mock me all you want but easy mode is where it's at. I'm playing for FUN not because I want to be all badass. I don't care if the battles are easy or over in one turn. I'm playing the game the way that makes me happy and is FUN.
And, yeah, I probably would do just fine on Normal mode, but there's no downside to taking it easy.
And what's the quote from? Do I even want to know what it means?
Persona 3:
I'm finally figuring out the whole Persona/fusion weakness/skill ability. Good times. I'm a big fan of knocking them all down with their weakness and then polishing them off with physical attacks.
I like Akihiko the best as an ally... doesn't hurt that he's certainly pretty.
I like Junpei too, though. I'm rooting for him and Yukari. I keep trying to convey to him that I'm not interested in her... >_>;
Oh, and if Easy has reduced compedium costs I don't even WANT to know what the regular costs are! Fortunately money is a non-issue for me so far since I get so much loot exploring Tartarus. I get BF to help me with the card-shuffle and our powers combined have yet to fail >_>

LOL, Kino, the quote is from (what else) an IOSYS video of Touhou in which it generally uses Reisen and Tei to mock easy mode players: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uruFipAFk2Y
@Akihiko - of course it's subtle. The whole game is, but that's what makes it fun.
Spoilers for ending:
@ Bad ending - I always assumed that their "farness" was because more than likely the ONLY reason the two got together to begin with was because they were persona users. If all those memories were wiped, the never had a reason to talk to each other in the first place to discover that there might be a love connection there. Either way, I don't think either of them are the types to be "high school sweet hearts", so it makes sense that nothing happened during the game. I always imagine "many years after...."
@Katamari - I got the game replaced. Since they had no other used copy, they gave me a new one (yay!)
XD DEAR GOD I understand why you guys were saying that the 360 version sucked. Though, I think I definitely prefered the 360 version's music. But this is entirely more fun. I also LOVE LOVE the Constellation view. ^_^ I get to view the fruits of my labor.
o_O Oh god... now... which do I play... Izuna vs Katamari ....
