It wasn't a random stranger. I've talked to the guy before and his tastes really seemed pretty equal to mind, which is why I let him talk me down.

Really, though, he himself said that he hadn't touched it that it was another person. The guy's main complaint was that he spent an hour searching for an effected person and even once he had there was no reward out of it.

I haven't run into anything like that. Maybe it's because I go everywhere and talk to everyone and read everything I can, but so far I haven't felt any lack of direction or forward momentum.

Then again, I'm only 5 hours into it. I'll keep y'all posted!

:\ text and voices being different doesn't bother me, but then, it depends on HOW DIFFERENT they are.

For example, in Rune Factory Frontier they'll probably say something like: "I really wish I was taller" while the text reads "If only I were taller...." or something like that.

I don't mind that. It's kinda fun, even. But if it's such different meanings that it's hard to understand the two and leaves you wondering "which should I fucking listen to", then I can understand complaints.

Some of them are complete opposites (like, "Don't do this" as the text and "You should go there" as the spoken dialogue); if I recall, the text is always right. The script they had when reading was not the same as used for the in-game text.

The text is probably a truer translation of the original japanese, where the english voices are built around lip-sync.
