Tried the Nanocarp version. I got what I payed for and it's nothing more or nothing less than I expected, which is good. It's very pretty to look at, though since this is a sound based game I won't get much use of it on the go. Fine by me! What's $2 between a little fun? The Nanocarps are very cute! I'll be sure to share it with people who have an appreciation for cute things.
Tried to play some actual games on the Wii and I still kind of /argh at it. I find the best functionality given to the Wii is the ability to point. I honestly do not like waggle controls because they are not reliable. Not being able to adjust my wrist without blowing up the world takes away some of the comfort in console gaming. I just wish there were more games like Twilight Princess which execute it perfectly. I expect the next console Zelda to be even better with Wii Motion Plus so we can experience some 1:1 sword swingin'. I dearly look forward to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers come late December. It has been a long time since the Final Fantasy series has piqued my interest.
On the subject of gaming, I'm sort of getting back into it. Went a long time without doing much except Wii Fit Plus and trying games people want me to try. Started up Etrian Odyssey II and Chrono Trigger once again. Finished Chrono Trigger so it's just EOII... which I play for maybe half an hour a day.
I downloaded Excitebike: World Rally. I'll give it a shot and post what I think about it!
Edit - It's pretty amazing. I think I need sleep.

I could say the same about Metroid and Metroid Prime. Feels nothing like Metroid at all.
It's good for business.
Excitebike: World Tour is unfit for my mortal hands. It runs on the old formula from NES. You can do two things: drive or drive faster. There are still only four lanes. Displaying horrible sportsmanship is the key to prosperity as per norm. Yeah it's pretty awesome when I land on another driver and speed away without even checking to see if they are okay. The biker just fist pumps after rendering another paraplegic for life. Perhaps I'm reading into the innocent nature too much. Running down another biker now completely relieves any overheating... which is so innocently barbaric. Horrible game!
Track builder is still here as well as online play with friends or the unknown. Playing online or playing one of the four cups (consisting of five tracks each in everywhere from Kyoto to Canada) is a great way to unlock paint jobs for the bike. Which aside from control scheme and stuff, is the extent of customization.
I have two problems with this game. The first is you can only pick classic or tilt controls. Picking classic controls is the only way to change it to a classic perspective. Can't just have the new tilt controls without the angled camera. A real shame. The other problem is the wipe out. Wiping out is back which is great. Now the player must shake the remote to recover quicker, which is fine. But it no longer shows the biker tumble off the track and walk to their motorcycle. Just kind of... flops back up and keeps driving. It loses the adorable factor. ;~;
Other than that it's pretty good. For $10 I'm glad I bought it. I can't say it's worth $10 but knowing me I'd probably pay $20 just to play Excitebike.

More Excitebike rambling no one cares about. You'd think that me making two elaborate posts in a row about a game would mean it has great depth and stuff. Well, it doesn't. You could easily live without ever playing it and be just fine. It's like this: You pick a bike colour. You drive. Forward. No turning. Just four lanes. There is no first or last place unless it's with other players. Just computer controlled purple racers scattered about at random as an obstacle.
I was worried that there would be no pink bike. For some reason the idea of going pink in motocross seemed like it would double the value of the game. Well I got an S rank in the silver cup... which unlocked the Plum Crazy colour scheme. It's pink!. Horray! Well, it's more of a fuchsia. As long as it's not hot pink. I hate hot pink.
The Platinum Cup is serious business. Haven't gotten an S yet though I have gotten As (why is S always better than A?) and I'm starting to get better at it. The courses are really wild with lots of barriers and stuff to avoid. I could just wheelie over them but then some random purple will just HAPPEN TO BE THERE and run me off the road.
Ramming another biker while airborne is the most satisfying experience in the game. Lord knows why it would reward such a violent display of poor sportsmanship. I like to ram the racers next to me at the start. For some reason I find it very amusing, especially because the biker pumps their fist and cheers while the other is on the ground and probably needs medical attention.
The game has races all over the world which doesn't change much beyond the graphics and the music. For the first few cups it all seemed fair and not like a Warner Bros cartoon where they unearth in Japan to hear a gong and get greeted by a buck-toof'd bowing straw hat. Then I go to China. IT'S SO STEREOTYPED well there are still many places like that but I still found it funny. It is a Japanese game and they go to great lengths to differentiate themselves from China. The last track is New York and of course it has AMERICAN FLAGS and some boards with the Statue of Liberty on it I mean, it's not like you see much for flags ever before this. Might pass by a French flag on the Paris track but not every other board. It makes me giggle inside for some reason. Canada has very friendly music and pine-trees. :B

Excitebike: World Rally
Last night finally managed to get an S rank on all 16 tracks! Fiji was probably my least favourite. Turning off the music might have helped. Right after that was the last track, New York, which I did on the same sitting. Very easy track. Requires a lot of the precision as the other Platinum tracks but only half the patience since it's about 1:55 total with a simple sequence at the beginning. I unlocked a Skull Pattern. I was like "That's so tacky. My tastes aren't THAT bad!" then I go online and that's the first pattern I see.

no I want
dinosaur simulator
like, you are born as a tiny one and you have to climb trees and eat bugs
and you get bigger and work in packs and follow herds of plant-eaters around in an attempt to secure a steady food supply for your pack and offspring
imagine the exploration elements of a complete prehistoric world, and the action elements of realistic dino combat, and the sim aspect of dino population management.
