-_-; Thanks. You would not believe the difficulty I've been having with some of the menu navigation in this game. I was able to check their player status but not Persona status -- now I've got it, though, since I knew where to look.
Right now I like playing with Yukari, Akihiko and Mitsuru since they all have heal spells, but I'll probably switch Mitsuru out for Junpei until everyone's at the same level. ...And am I correct in thinking I'll get even more party members? There's just so many empty rooms in the dorm is all >_>
If you don't mind my bugging you >_>; I just hate googling for stuff since I'll get a spoiler and be all "noooo!" and such. But I have a few questions more about experience/leveling.
Whenever Persona level up, like through fusion or in battle, the text always says "Your Endurance increased by 2!" but I can clearly see on the graph that it's the Persona's stats that have increased. Is this just some wonky translating, or does the main character also receive a stat increase?
For a Persona/Party member to gain experience do they need to kill the enemy, just participate in the battle, or deal damage?

KKINO I FUKKIN LOVE YOU MAN
PERSONA 3 OMG
Character spoilers (no names, just descriptions of their roles and stuff). This pretty long-winded so if you don't care, the first paragraph has everything.
There's four more party members; another Physical attacker, a Hama-user (instant Death-Light), a Mudo-user (instant Death-Dark), and a Physical Attacker/Buffer.
The straight Physical Attacker (Hierophant) is pretty one-dimensional. Think of Junpei but then take away casting. And buffing. There you go.
The Hama-user (Justice) is so-so. Sort-of balanced stats, single-target Hama spells, Zio spells but lacks the Amp/Charge to increase casting damage, eventually gets Healing as well. Fairly versatile since he gets Spear Mastery to help his damage out but ... no real specialization.
The Mudo-user (Strength) is weird. He's of the Strength Arcana ... but his STR growth isn't good. Also, he lacks Physical Skills COMPLETELY in favor of multi-target Mudo and Agi stuff. Also, he has ridiculously high Evasion, high HP (best, actually), high Speed, and high Counter chance as well as _two_ Immunities. But ... he's pretty weak physically and low-SP so he can't do much chain-casting despite what the AI will tend to do.
The Physical Attacker/Buffer (Aeon from here on out!) is pretty poor in stats but makes up for it with an innate Physical resist, high HP and high Endurance. Also, she gets the best Physical Skills of the cast, some good Healing spells, and some of the better Buffs eventually. Starts off pretty slow, however, but builds up to be quite good in the end-game.
Also, a small correction; Akihiko is hands down the most balanced character in the game. Also, he only gets _one_ Physical Attack that eventually gets replaced >>. He's more of a caster in terms of Skills. Pretty much, he fits Attacker (with normal attacks), Caster, and Support (Debuff) all at once.
Mitsuru, on the other hand, is built more towards Offense and with her high Magic, Mind Charge, and Spells ... she probably has the highest non-MC damage capability in the game.
Yukari is the best Magic Attacker, stat-wise, of the bunch with her high Magic (tied with Mitsuru) and the highest SP. However, she learns neither Wind Boost or Wind Amp so she's weaker with Spells than Mitsuru (and even Akihiko later). Her physical attacks are also pretty weak. That said, she's easily the best of the Healers and one of the better (~3rd, I'd say) of the cast.
Junpei is sort-of odd. He's a good physical attacker and support but he's eventually outclassed in terms of Physicals/Support (Aeon and his Spells are lacking (and Strength does it better). More-or-less, he's pretty middle-of-the road when you have everyone else. In the end, he's really just good for his Physicals, even if there's other options, and his sturdiness (can get 10%+ HP Regen per turn).
Edit: Added in Junpei and Yukari and fixed Chariot since I forgot FES changed her Arcana >>.
EXP, Stats. WARNING: NUMBERS (no Math).
When the Main Character gains a level, his HP/SP increase and that's it. The Persona increases are attributed to the Persona and those are YOUR stats when equipped. +Stats work weird in the game as each level has a random chance to gain Stats based on the Arcana of the Persona:
Arcana: Str, Mag, End, Agi, Luc
Fool: 20.0, 20.0, 20.0, 20.0, 20.0
Magician: 15.4, 30.8, 15.4, 23.1, 15.4
Priestess: 15.4, 30.8, 15.4, 15.4, 23.1
Empress: 15.4, 30.8, 15.4, 23.1, 15.4
Emperor: 25.0, 25.0, 16.7, 16.7, 16.7
Hierophant: 23.1, 23.1, 23.1, 15.4, 15.4
Lovers: 15.4, 23.1, 15.4, 15.4, 30.8
Chariot: 30.8, 15.4, 23.1, 15.4, 15.4
Justice: 15.4, 23.1, 15.4, 30.8, 15.4
Hermit: 15.4, 23.1, 15.4, 30.8, 15.4
Fortune: 15.4, 30.8, 15.4, 15.4, 23.1
Strength: 30.8, 15.4, 23.1, 15.4, 15.4
Hanged Man: 15.4, 23.1, 30.8, 15.4, 15.4
Death: 23.1, 30.8, 15.4, 15.4, 15.4
Temperance: 23.1, 23.1, 23.1, 15.4, 15.4
Devil: 15.4, 30.8, 15.4, 23.1, 15.4
Tower: 30.8, 15.4, 23.1, 15.4, 15.4
Star: 28.6, 21.4, 14.3, 14.3, 21.4
Moon: 25.0, 25.0, 16.7, 16.7, 16.7
Sun: 14.3, 21.4, 14.3, 28.6, 21.4
Judgement: 15.4, 30.8, 23.1, 15.4, 15.4
Aeon: ?
Don't have Aeon's numbers on my .txt, sorry!
Usable characters have a different growth:
Yukari: 16.7, 33.3, 16.7, 16.7, 16.7
Junpei: 25.0, 16.7, 25.0, 16.7, 16.7
Akihiko: 25.0, 25.0, 16.7, 16.7, 16.7
Mitsuru: 16.7, 33.3, 16.7, 16.7, 16.7
Aeon: 18.75, 18.75, 25.0, 18.75, 18.75
Justice: 18.7, 22.0, 18.7, 22.0, 18.7
Strength: 18.75, 18.75, 18.75, 25.0, 18.75
As for how EXP works, the Persona needs to be there in battle. Like, if you have 8 total Personas, only the one that FINISHES the fight will get the EXP. There's abilities that give EXP however (Growth 1 -- 25%, 2 -- 50%, and 3 -- 100%) as long as they're with you even if they didn't participate. Also, the EXP screen only shows YOUR share of the EXP, not the amount your Persona got or the others.
The relevance of that? People of a lower level than the Main Character gain MORE EXP than what your share indicates--a lot more, in fact. It's very easy to catch up low level characters due to this.
Edit: Damn this making me want to play Persona 3 so badly now ... oh god ... maxing S. Links ... oh god.

I don't usually put Mitsuru in my party because of this:
Not a spoiler. Just an image.

And yeah, as Scy already said, your current equipped persona's stats are your stats, and yes, as personas gain level, they will get new skills. I'm glad to see that you're enjoying the game, by the way! My current party is:
Yukari, Akihiko, and Koromaru
. It's working out pretty well, although I have been neglecting Junpei. =\

My favorite has and always will be:
Turn 1: Mind Charge
Turn 2: Tentarafoo
Turn 3: Tentarafoo
Turn 4: Mind Charge (WHY? WHY?!)
...oh how I hate you Mitsuru. Even worse, she has Tentarafoo even when maxed out and outside of telling the AI to Full Assault (maybe?) or Exploiting Weaknesses, she'll use it fairly often ... even to the point of delaying a Mind Charge use for seemingly forever.
That said, the same applies to a lot of the Debuff-capable characters where they'll do something stupid. Thankfully, a few lack the status debuffs when maxed out so you don't need to worry too much.
Still, I think the "most" balanced party is probably:
MC, Yukari, Akihiko, and Mitsuru
Though my personal favorites are:
MC, Yukari, Aigis, Mitsuru
or
MC, Yukari, Koro, Akihiko
Or just going solo >>.
Incidentally, I believe there's a Wind Boost yielding Weapon from Fusion. If so, that should probably boost Yukari's damage output some since she otherwise lacks Wind Boost/Amp or Mind Charge ... assuming it gives her Wind Boost >>.
Damn it, time to put my anime watching on hold as I play P3. oboy, remaxing S. Links here I come...

Ooohhh... Gotcha! That clears up a LOT of things. I had no idea my Persona's stats were my stats, but now that I look at it that's obvious -_-;
And, hooray, that just equipping the Persona is enough. I've been leveling some weaker Persona and wasn't sure if they had to deal damage/kill in order to get EXP.
LOL @ comic. Yeah... I don't like her trying to charm an enemy when it's the only one left and has like 35 HP. -_- Just stab it, bitch!
Tehehe @ getting Scy to play Persona 3. >_> It's addicting, no?
^_^ Yeah, Akarshi, I'm really liking it! I've even roped my BF into watching me play which is rare -- normally I'm the one watching HIM play games. >_>;
...GASP! It's 5pm! Time to close up shop and go play more Persona 3!

KKINO I FUKKIN LOVE YOU MAN
My copy of FES has been sitting in my PS2 for months as I've been lazy. I don't have most of the S. Link routes planned out and I use my TV as my PC monitor as well so I can't keep checking back for the S. Link stuff so I just ... put it aside as I couldn't stand not maxing the S. Links in one-go and didn't want to plan a route out on paper. Though they did make FES a bit easier for maxing S. Links (another Night one, for instance) and I know now not to do certain ones pre-Summer >>. Oh well!
Though I'm sad the FES carry-over data doesn't have my Compendium as it was
I had a lot of nice Persona with good skills from Fusions and Growth 3's on a lot of tedious-to-level Persona. Then again, I abused Monad and a Persona with Die for Me! for EXP so Growth was a "must" for leveling.
And, seriously, who thought up Armageddon and the totally overpowered Victory Cry (full HP/SP after a fight ... Armageddon is expends all SP to deal 9999 damage. Hrm...). Well, whatever. Doesn't make certain fights any easier, really; just a nice tool for finishing normal encounters.
(Die for Me! is totally overpowered too; 80% Chance of Instant Death and I can guarantee a free turn? Hooray!)

I should really continue on my Hard Mode playthrough of The Journey for Persona 3:FES. I can't even remember where I am in the game right now
.
Other games I'm playing...
Mega Man Zero 3 Hard Mode- Just started this a couple days ago after finishing Mega Man Zero 2 on Hard Mode. Intro Stage and 2 bosses killed (With S Ranks on all 3 of those stages too). Just have Flizzard and Inarabitta left to take out in the first set of bosses.
Regarding Command Mission...
That game is fun. The difficulty starts nosediving downwards right around chapter 7 I believe (Whenever the new kickass normal battle music makes its debut).
Most of that difficulty nosediving is all because of Zero xD. Seriously, Zero Dragon Slash spamming with usage of Command Arts, his AT, plus the right elemental saber to combat a boss's weakness, plus using Heat Haze once before activating the AT= Goodbye like half of said boss's HP.
He also gets the killer Z-Rapier. 3 hit weapon that just does excellent damage (And you can hunt for a stronger version in the final dungeon).
Back to the difficulty...the only real challenging fight after that is chapter 9's last boss (Last form...oh hey I'll spam a powerful all party attack every other turn and forget about my elemental attacks).
Factoring in optional fights...Rafflesia requires the right strategy or you will die very fast. The other one in chapter 8 is a joke.
Post game bosses are actually challenging. Ninetails is a royal trainwrecker of epic levels. He's a got an extremely strong all party attack (All of the Tails Clan has this skill, it's just that Ninetails power is insane), a single character attack that's instakill essentially, and regens health every turn he gets (And he has something like 80-100k HP or so).
Hrm ... Ar Tonelico 2 just got announced for US (ironically, around the same time as Persona 4 hits here; space some releases so I can actually PLAY these games!) ... damn it. Now I need to play through AT1 I suppose, though the stories are apparently unrelated.

Finished the first Izuna game today. That last dungeon was hard and long. The sequel should arrive soon (ordered it last week).
I'm now playing Summon Night: Twin Age. So far it's very pretty, but also too easy. The partner N/PC keeps stealing my kills, and now there's another (optional) NPC to take along into battle. I'm tempted to just set them to No Attacking/Skills, but occasionally they're useful as shields.
