The DSi has a much shorter battery life than the DS. That was a big factor in deciding to get a Lite when I had a choice.
The controller in NSMB wii is easier for me with the nunchuck, but my fiancé uses the wiimote only. Shaking to use the Helicopter hat is easier for me than him. You still don't have to do it often.
I played like 20 minutes of Golden Sun and got bored.

The DSi's battery life can't be shorter than the PSP's though.

Could always just change the light settings. By default it is at the second highest brightness.
