.hack//G.U. Redemption - Closing in on the endgame. Just got awesome sauce weaponry and new looks.
Labyrinth of Touhou - (Lots of rambling and spoilers for 15F-16F fights and characters)
[spoiler]Before engaging Yukari on the 16th floor, I went after the only optional character left I could get at this point, Flandre.
She's not easy (That's a given with pretty much any boss at this point xD). Her attacks sting hard. Forbidden Fruit is pretty much a you all die except Tenshi move or close to it.
Once she hits low HP, she goes into screw you/pissed off/KILL! mode and spams Laevatain, inflicting insane damage to everyone (Worse than Forbidden Fruit!)...and she spams it every turn at this point. That means she needs to die and fast here.
Took me about 6-7 tries to win this fight. Focused on Tenshi being the primary tank here with her State of Enlightenment buff (Self-buff, buffs her MND/DEF by 100%, but can also cause PAR, SIL, and/or a SPD debuff. Easily blocked with status prevention equips). Everyone else tried to stay alive while a few attackers got buffed up.
Tenshi recasted State of Enlightenment whenever the MND/DEF bonus fell to 30-40% so she could take 0 dmg or close to it.
Pretty much was a bring in any attacker after Flandre took an action, had them attack, then got them out if possible type of strategy.
Got real nail biter like close towards the end. Tenshi out of SP and her DEF/MND bonus being low meant I had to gamble with Reimu spamming Great Hakurei Barrier to keep Tenshi high enough defense wise and pray everyone else could finish her off fast.
She did go down and I was quite happy.
Flandre as a party member...pretty interesting. She's basically a glass cannon. Her DEF isn't the best and pretty much anything that's a magic spell is going to kill her (Kinda like how Patchy is, but for DEF in her case).
To boot, her skills all carry some kind of negative side effect. Starbow Break takes off about 1/4th her current HP while Forbidden Fruit and Laevatain drains the active gauge of all other party members.
The upside to her...she's got godlike ATK (Better than Yuugi for crying out loud), a respectable amount of MAG, and good SPD. She will pretty much murder what she touches.
She also saved my ass against Yukari whom I just took out a little while ago.
She can be nasty, but her stats can be busted up easily. Reisen fills that role in nicely with her Discarder spell.
Then, Djinn Storm...oh god NOT COOL YUKARI!!! It drains ALL SP from your frontline characters...and everyone in reserve too. Next turn she gets she changes form, resulting in her MND/DEF getting buffed a good amount, and gains new attacks.
After more damage is dealt, she does screw you I hate you Djinn Storm, then changes form again on her next turn.
This time though, she basically goes into KILL! mode like Flandre does at low HP. Hyperspeed Flying Object does crazy nasty damage that's gonna wipe characters in the 1st/2nd positions if they don't have ample HP and high defenses that are buffed up a good amount.
What's worse? Yukari gains another new spell that buffs ALL her stats by a good amount. Trying to break those while not getting creamed is a little luck reliant.
I got damn lucky to survive this fight on my 3rd try. I would likely have been screwed if Flandre's Starbow Break and Marisa's Master Spark didn't take her down.
Yukari seems useful as a character. A spell that works just like Reimu's Great Hakurei Barrier and a spell that insta fills all other party members' active gauges sounds pretty darn nice.
