I had a major breakthrough in Rock Band last night (fyi, I bought it just for drums).
I was able to one-shot each song on medium difficulty as they came along, until I hit the Southern-Rock-epic-slash-brick-wall known as "Green Grass and High Tides." The drumming isn't really that complicated, mostly just a . : . | . : . | pattern, but it would go so fast for so long that I couldn't keep my kick independent. So I put it away for a couple weeks (and not without some frustration and mild cursing), and then started revisiting some of my favorite shorter songs.
Anyway, I decided to give GGaHT another go last night. Not only did I make it on the first try, I aced it! Aw yeah! I went on to one-shot the remaining 20+ songs, including the awesome "Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld".
Something must have clicked by letting things marinate in my subconcious/what-have-you for a while. I used to dread any accent notes (especially the kick), but now I'm starting to look forward to them.
Anyway, I'm stoked, and I thought any other Rock Band-ers out there would appreciate this.

TIMMAH!
I'd own RockBand if it weren't for the dual fact that
1) No one would play it with me enough to jusyify
2) the price tag
and
3) I don't know 95% of all the songs
When are they coming out with Mozart's RockBand in which the drums are replaced by pianola, the guitars become a violin and a cello, and the vocals are suddenly like CONFUTATIS! MALEDICTIS! FLAMMIS ACRIBUS ADDICTIS!

Cabal is the only MMO I've really played.
In terms of character customization, Cabal isn't the game you want to go for. There's limited character choice options and you follow a set path with your gear in terms of looks. And even the game store which offers costumes (if you're willing to pay $30 for them) only have so much to choose from. However, not many people are higher tier, so we do kinda stand out... well I mean next to the lower tiers. No, there's plenty of higher tiers, but we are also off into the other territories, too, so when we are standing in one of the starter towns there's not many of us together. Maybe in Bloody Ice if we are pvp'ing each other. And even then, some have the lower tier clothing on since they are working their way through crafting. Just cause the gear looks like the n00b's clothing, it's usually higher in power. *sigh* That and plus we just like to attack each other wearing our weakest things sometimes.
Seriously, though, it's not the looks. It's how fun the game is. And just because the gear all looks the same, it's not. <_< Bah, my gear is weak T-T. There's a fusion element you use if your gear has an empty slot open. And some gear can have one or two slots and some slots can have a + so that whatever gets placed there is double powered. Of course, though, it's hard customizing your gear like this since it's random what will come out of it when you do go to fuse ^_^;
You play Cabal for the fighting. Oh yes. The skills. See on my skill bar, buttons 6-0 are for buffs, button 4 is my 'warp' so ignore it. Buttons 1,2,3,and5 are the fighting skills. You click on a monster and press one of those buttons and the game takes over and automatically starts using whatever skill you have in the bar in order, skipping over those that are re-loading. It really looks flawless and very beautiful. (You can turn this feature off, too, if you just want to select the skills yourself while battling.)
Then, and this is the part that makes it a war, there's two nations in the game: Capella and Procyon. I'm a Capella.
Every day at certain times there's the Mission Wars. For the lower tiers, it's just an all out battle (lags like hell but it's fun as hell, even if you have to deal with the elitist bastards who are like - LOG OFF YOU N00BS SO OUR HIGHER LVLED BUDDIES CAN FIGHT. Tell them to fuck off.) The higher tiers we have to pay to enter and it's a lot more complicated. I JUST reached this tier and I've not bothered yet.
Then there's also Chaos Arena. ^_^; I've never been in one but I hear it's fucking fun.
What I REALLY enjoy, though, are the in-game Mission Dungeons. Lake in Dusk, Ruina Station, and some more that I've not been in yet. You want to go into these in parties because they are difficult, but they are what you use to level up and they can be mad fun and you get some seriously NICE drops from them. Went into Ruina Station at level 75, came out level 77.
Also, the maps I'm just now starting to enter and fight in, if you run into a member of the other nation - :3 you can kill them, and don't get punished. There's also the War Channel which is the normal game, but even in the towns you can kill others of the other nation. For some reason, people really like Bloody Ice. Bah >_< I always get slaughtered the moment I step foot into there - oh and there's no death penalty. ^_^ But, it's just fun. To have your nation vs their nation fighting each other.
This video has no sound anymore, but it is a great display of the attacks you will see in the game:
