Another note on Final Fantasy: Four Heroes of Light.
This is the best fresh RPG concept I have experienced in over a decade. I love it. So much charm. The battle system is fun, the story is great, the characters are great, the music is a nice blend of sounds old and new. The mechanics are simple to understand and anybody could play this game without an instruction manual/GameFAQs. The difficulty is pretty well balanced. I haven't had too much of a hard time, but other people have definitely found themselves stumped and in the need of strategic advice. In any case the solution never involves grinding, which is nice.
Of course if you do skip out on GameFAQs, you will find out how dumb you were for selling the King's Shortsword and any Emeralds you picked up back at the start of the adventure.
