Huh. Mass Effect 2 is now 20 bucks on Steam. Awesome. When I feel the itch, I'll get it.
I'm redownloading the demo so I can remake that Shepard, but here's mine from 1 to get an idea.
[spoiler]
Looked much better in 2.

to me Portrait of Ruin is the best Castlevania on DS, Aria of Sorrow/Dawn of Sorrow for GBA/NDS have one of the most annoying main character ever. Order of Ecclesia is okay, but imho PoR is better

My opinion on the DS Castlevanias:
Story
Order of Ecclesia >> Dawn of Sorrow > Portrait of Ruin
Art
Order of Ecclesia >>>>> Dawn of Sorrow > Portrait of Ruin
Gameplay
Order of Ecclesia > Dawn of Sorrow > Portrait of Ruin
Music
Portrait of Ruin > Dawn of Sorrow > Order of Ecclesia
Replay Value
Portrait of Ruin > Dawn of Sorrow > Order of Ecclesia
Multiplayer
Portrait of Ruin is basically it
Overall
Order of Ecclesia > Dawn of Sorrow > Portrait of Ruin
Order of Ecclesia is hard but I found it very satisfying. Where it lacks variety in level design, it makes up for with variety in challenges. For the record at the end of the day, I admire the music and artwork of Order of Ecclesia far more than the others, but Portrait of Ruin's music is more the kind of thing you'd tap your foot to.

On the subject of Castlevanias, I picked up [s]God of War[/s] Lords of Shadow so I'll probably be starting on that tomorrow.

EOII > EOIII
that being said, there are some major improvments in EOIII. I like the oldschool feel EOII had as opposed to all this technology. Oh well, that's for another thread. What matters is that I need free time~

I like the direction that EOIII went in, but it did deviate slightly from certain things I liked about EOII, or more importantly, the first EO.

Some of the changes in art alone are making me leave it for last.

Regarding the technology thing, I don't mind it. EO1 and 2 kind of wore thin the whole [hide]OMG YOU'RE NOT ACTUALLY IN THE PAST YOU'RE IN THE FUTURE![/hide] twist. It's nice to see them change it up. Additionally it adds to the story more, since in the previous two games it seems like there's practically no story, or exposition of the story at least, until your confrontation with the last boss. At least in this one the plot seems to move along more smoothly and give you a hint as to what's going on before you reach the end.
