Does everybody here like Pokemon? I mean according to the age poll (although, granted 29/544 is a pretty [s]crap[/s] useless data set) most of us are in our mid twenties. I don't know what it's like in America, but over here the thought of a grown adult liking Pokemon is a bit disturbing, particularly since here (ITL) it seems to be happening en mass. Now I'm not one to follow the masses, just the opposite really, but despite the EV system, natures and whatever remotley complex systems you decorate it with Pokemon is still a kiddy game, with a kiddy plot, about raising cutsey monsters to fight with, noting that death in Poke-land is pretty much impossible (which seems pretty childish to me).
Sorry if any of that seemed a little harsh, I do that sometimes (well alot actually), but I didn't mean any offence or anything, I'm just quite shocked by what I'm reading here.

If you've never played the series, you probably won't hate the DS one. I didn't put too much time into it before I broke out into tears and wandered the streets for a hobo to kill but it's not terrible itself. Combat is basically like a Ys clone and it looks promising. It's just that it's a remake that basically just "meh, whatever" all over the original story.
They reused the soundtrack so it's this conflicting "OOH LUFIA" and "WTF WHY IS EVERYTHING FUTURE TECH?!"
Edit:
Also, "CAN'T YOU TELL WHO I AM?! LOOK AT MY ENERGY WAVES *auras*"
"!!!!"
/wrists
