Well I am going by my training anyway I don't think games are just for kids. But big retail stores have been thinking that for years. Only in the last five years have they started getting games are for all ages(and adults have da monies!)

Imagine many of us started playing when the games first came out then never stopped. At least that's what happened in my case, I was well within the target demographic when red and blue first launched.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I got Resonance of Fate the other day (on the cheap, impulse buy), game drops you in with no tutorials, leaving it up to you to realize there's some in the pause menu. Not the best course of action for a game with a weird combat system like this.

Apollon - No, not everyone here is a pokefan. Keep in mind though that the people who hang out here are both gamers and geeks, so definitely not representative of their whole age group.
I for one didn't get into console/handheld gaming until a few years back, and am about 10-15 years older than the average here, so the whole Pokemon craze completely missed me. I bought Platina (JP) last year because I wanted to find out what was so great about this pokestuff, and hoped to use it to practice my Japanese skills. Turns out my Japanese skills haven't quite developed as much as I hoped, so it's still gathering dust.

Apollon:
Did you stop to do some quick math?
Pokemon came out, what? '98? I am 26 and one of the older ones here.
So, let's see, -12 years, I was 14. I took my little sister, even, to see the first two Pokemon movies.
I mean, I'm only loosely speaking for the others but uhh, I grew up on Pokemon the same as I grew up on Zelda, Mario, and Final Fantasy.
We WERE that age at one time and I know that I like to pick up the new games to see how things are going in the franchise. I'm rather looking forward to the upcoming games, too, particularly since I hear they are switching things up a little. Not because I'm a "fan" of the series (that ended a long time ago) but because I feel I have an invested interest, plus I have my little sister and... hell, who knows, I might actually find it fun this time.
