@Apolloncrash
In most FF games it's not purely "attack->attack->attack" as you so simply put it, there is a lot of planning involved in classics like FF4. Setting up buffs and debuffs, restoring mana and hp, preparing for magic attacks.
Wait, you only play Dissidia now because the gameplay is so addictive? What? You do know that this is categorized as one of the worse FF games right, alongside Crystal Chronicles. For such an interesting premise, it was terribly executed. For a fighting game it was generally put together pretty poorly. Only 3 types of attacks and a health system that is retarded as fuck. Seriously, having to fight through defense to get to their actual HP? This would make sense in something like a Yugioh card game but a FF fighting game where there are no visible defenses in battle? That game could have been a lot better if they kept it simple like Street Fighter.
So, have you played KH and actually payed attention to the storyline? Granted the series has turned into mostly fan service but the gameplay and story line in the first game were pretty well executed.
And honestly, you judge games based on the characters in it JUST because they come from a franchise like Disney? Seriously, what kind of gamer are you? You shouldn't hate a character just because it comes from a childish background, you should judge them based on character development and interactions throughout the story. Donald and Goofy, although having a past in the Disney series, both help Sora develop in his character. Sora starts of lost, confused and sad but because of Donald and Goofy, they both give him hope that he will find his friends.
And going off of your look of games being childish. Do you have prescription glasses and did you forget to put them on while looking at Pokemon? This game is about pitting animals against each other in battle which in some extreme cases, causes DEATH. And if you even look at the villainous teams in the series, you should know that their goals are far from being something in a childish game, enslaving humanity, breaking and entering, theft, separation of worlds, flooding the land, drying the ocean. Yeeeeaaaaah, childish games totally have this kind of shit. You even go out into a world where it is dangerous to be alone without your own personnel set of body guards.
Earliar you were also mentioning the music.

After doing a project of Video Games as an art form, I should know a bit about soundtracks in games and Pokemon has some amazing shit in it.
