F-Zero GX. Trying my hand at unlocking the AX Cup. Currently I only need to beat Diamond Cup on Master and then I have them all ^_^
So far though Sapphire Cup proved to be the most difficult. I managed to beat Emerald Cup on my first try. Whilst Ruby took a few... if only because its hard to place well in Surface Slide and Loop Cross.

Why the hell is Recettear so goddamn addictive?! This game has to be the best $10 I ever spent. Anyway, I have a quick question. Do price raises stack? On my previous day, I had metal things up, but long swords specifically were up as well. So would I have been able to sell at ~300-400% safley? I wasn't sure and didn't want to break my combo, so I just sold then at 210%.
Even though I haven't been playing for that long there have still been a hell of a lot of really funny moments, and it just occured to me to screenshot them (I really am an idiot *facepalm*).
This one just happened, and it is really crap like this that makes even the random/non-event stuff awesome. (not sure about rules on posting images, so to be safe I shrunk the crap out of it and destroyed the quality)

Yes, I know, I'm doing really badly, but as I said its the tutorial's fault and I have just started my way out of this damn rut.

Hrrrm... actually, that never occurred to me if they stacked or not. I've generally never risked it anyways. Hrrrm... my reaction is "no" at first, but I honestly couldn't tell you.
And don't worry about how poorly you are doing. My first playthrough I didn't beat the game until my 4th loop. ^_^; I probably did the worst.

Did it on my second. Took your advice to not deal with the dungeons and just buy low/sell high. Lucky breaks with increased prices on the most expensive items also helped.
Now to get Nagi again...
Restarted my sorceress on Neverwinter Nights. It'll probably be the same thing, I just wanted to try and do more henchman quests in chapter 1 and stopped liking the hood I gave her. Still hate the excess cleavage they get for robes. And also the fact I gave her martial weapons for some reason. Just wanted a longbow, I guess.

It's hard to imagine how stupidly difficult Wand killing Phalanx at Level 1 on NG+ is if you haven't played Demon's Souls >>
@Recettear: It's basic arbitrage, though it's a hell of a lot easier if you lower your profit margins for more sales/EXP. Getting access to higher tiers of items that they'll buy is far more important than turning that 900 item into a 1170 item instead of only 945. Plus increasing store size and all those extra perks to push sales out faster as well.
Think by the end of week 1 I could pull 150-200kish a day which made it fairly easy to get the money needed. Selling at ~104/105% and buying at ~70% is basically all you need to do. Though that fucking little girl is a little annoying bitch that ruins every chain. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME.
Edit: 70%/105% is all you need to do until they get deep pockets. At that point, you can then worry about getting to their higher Just Pin values (near 120% for many). Keep in mind that the Just Pin range increases as your rep does so it's not like you can really jump into it reliably at the start and Just Pin their max-non-haggle price point.

Yeah, on my second playthrough when I made the payments on week 1, I went by these basic prinicipals: dungeon once or twice per week. Only wasted time for events three times a week and NEVER blew a whole day when I did not open the shop.
DO NOT try to go after some HUGE price on one item. Seriously, I never went over 135% on even a red item. It's VERY IMPORTANT to sell it first time and get the Just Combos and even more important to find the Near Pin (hard to do but I can tell you now, NO ONE's Near Pin value exceeds 130% at any time).
Here's the chart I typically followed depending on the customer:
These do not apply until characters start to level up. When you are just starting sale ONLY at 102-110%. When you start seeing hearts, THEN begin working your way up to these values. ALSO: Characters DO have a hidden spending amount. If you are on Loop 2 and you try to sale your MEGA EXPENSIVE ITEMS at even just 100% ESPECIALLY to the Little Girl, she's going to get pissed and walk out. So if she's asking for Two Books as an Outstanding Order, you better only purchase 2 100 or so books. DO NOT try anything in the 1000s.
Edit: (See Scy's "Edit" in the previous post for some good advice on "Starting Out" price ranges)
Little Girl - 110%, Near Pin typically hit at around 106%
Woman - 110% ... never found Near Pin
Man - 125% his Near Pin is all over the place, once even hit it at 135% on a red item
Old Man - 115% never hit Near Pin
Aloutte - Treated as Little Girl
Fairy - 104-106% Near Pin value typically hit in this range or 102%. Treat as Little Girl when it's a Red Item.
Louie - 115% don't recall hitting his Near Pin
Charm - Treat as Fairy
Arma - fucking... I always had trouble with this one. She still continues to walk out on me.
Selling:
do about 55-88 depending on the person. Man and Old Man you can do the 50s. Fairy, do about 88 maybe lower if you want to risk it.
More Tips if you want:
Well you get the idea I'm sure. Once you get the Vending Machine, typically stock it with blue items, Treasures, Books, AND Vending Machines (yes, you can put Vending Machines inside Vending Machines). TIP: Not the "old" one but the other two Vending Machines are considered "Metal" .... ^_^ Just thought you'd like to know. Might be useful for an Outstanding Order or two.
Keep your Store Atmosphere in the middle. Get a few items like Heretic Wallpaper, maybe the Legendary Counter set, Fancy or Green carpet. Do NOT waste a whole lot of money. Just have a nice collection. If you do have to lean one way or the other, do slightly Gaudy/Dark. You might lose Louie but... o_O no big deal. You gain the potential of the boy (his name escapes me at the moment) and Aloutte and her fairy.
When you shop - SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY!! ..... you'll get it back, I promise. Seriously, in the morning you should go out shopping, get about two of EVERYTHING (do not waste time on Rings, Medicines, or store decorations - these just don't sell), and come back. The supply should last you all day. Get into that routine.
-Exception to the rule: On Payment Days, I typically only spend about half if I know I can make the payment easily (and I was FAR above the mark for each Payment Date). There are days when you might go to bed with slightly less than you did that morning though it makes up the next days, but on Payment Days you might not want to risk the chance.
Food and Red Items go in the windows. Rest of the store should be organized so that it influences your Store Atmosphere. Typically most of your sales come from people saying "I want something that is..." so unless it's a window item, they really aren't paying attention.
Rule on Vending Machines: Only keep one until you've done the second store upgrade with two windows. Then keep two Vending Machines. Stock the machine with whatever but typically stock it ONLY with the items that don't typically sale well.
Items that sale easily: FOOD, Weapons
Medium: Armor, bracelets, equipment
Hard sales: Books, Treasures, Rings (I rarely get requests for these things and only the Little Girl seems to ask for Books)
DO NOT WASTE TIME WITH: Medicines, Decorative Items such as Wallpapers - seriously these are items that are meant for Recette and your adventurers anyways. Why the fuck are you bothering with them?
Yes, this means, buy lots of food, HOWEVER, remember what you purchase affects the market. Seriously, you should be getting a variety and not so much of one thing that it puts it in blue.
Blue Items: Now... I know it's BUY LOW SELL HIGH and first instinct says BUY THESE AND SALE LATER. That's fine. But remember: do not buy so many it makes the problem worse. And blue items ARE a problem. But when you do, do NOT put them on display - throw them in the Vending Machine if you have a huge quantity. And seriously MAKE SURE that you have enough of that type of item to where you are not going to risk offering it to someone. These are combo breakers. Unless you are willing to take a HUGE fucking loss on these, DO NOT OFFER. Seriously, even if it means an empty spot on the table, don't put them on display. And it is SO better to say "we don't have...." then to try to offer them it. You will lose out. It's bad for everyone: your wallet, your combo, the economy.
If a Blue Item is offered to you to purchase, go high on it. 88-110% will usually ensure your combo does not break AND it will keep your person happy and probably increase your relationship. If you are getting a lot of blue items... what are you doing in your game to have so many items blue in the first place? You are doing something wrong. Be careful of future purchases. Also: save often so that way if food ever comes up as blue you can reset and see if you can avoid it. If food goes blue consider the day just fucked.
