Anyway, January 27th is where Sony Computer Entertainment Tokyo is unveiling the PSP2. With them waiting until after the 3DS launch, I'm partially expecting it to enter PRICEWARZ mode and try to at least slightly undercut them.

But ... since the specs on the PSP2 are a tad more impressive than the 3DS (or, you know, an actual upgrade) then I doubt it'll be sub-$300 without some pricing wars going on.

Or cost $600.

[spoiler]But, hey, it's also the first console (I think?) without Kutaragi so...

Anyway, if Sony's smart there probably won't be a price announce until like E3 so they can gauge market reaction to the 3DS and get a better idea of what they need to realistically shoot at. </marketing>[/spoiler]

Edit: Unrelated to the 3DS and PSP2 newsfest, NISA finally has a free shipping option so buying their shit doesn't cost $20 on top of MSRP. That's somehow still the news highlight of the day.

At least we can play our regualr DSgames on it until cool ones come out.

...Anyways, I figure since it's Nintendo, after the initial big release date, they'll make you and 30 others line up outside a store at 6 in the morning every day to fight for the 4 or 5 consoles they have in stock for a few months. (Remember the Wii?) So, if you don't snatch one up right awqay, chances are you won't get one for a while, so you might as well get one right off the bat, if you can.

I know the GameFAQs forum isn't the most reliable place for news, but I have seen it on a few ither sites as well, hopefully it's true.

I think the Japanese launch games included a new ToToMono game. I wish Atlus would translate the other games in the series. Class Of Heroes was great.

Well, it was pretty easy to be a Nintendo fan for a long time. The DS(i) was easily the winner of the last handheld console generation. And the 3DS is still looking pretty good.
