Anyway, January 27th is where Sony Computer Entertainment Tokyo is unveiling the PSP2. With them waiting until after the 3DS launch, I'm partially expecting it to enter PRICEWARZ mode and try to at least slightly undercut them.
But ... since the specs on the PSP2 are a tad more impressive than the 3DS (or, you know, an actual upgrade) then I doubt it'll be sub-$300 without some pricing wars going on.
Or cost $600.
[spoiler]But, hey, it's also the first console (I think?) without Kutaragi so...
Anyway, if Sony's smart there probably won't be a price announce until like E3 so they can gauge market reaction to the 3DS and get a better idea of what they need to realistically shoot at. </marketing>[/spoiler]
Edit: Unrelated to the 3DS and PSP2 newsfest, NISA finally has a free shipping option so buying their shit doesn't cost $20 on top of MSRP. That's somehow still the news highlight of the day.
