Those rumors became false when they announced Alvin, a mercenary voiced Tomokazu Sugita and designed by Fujishima. He wields a gun and a sword.
Still says he's a pirate.
Mira's name also got changed to Milla when they opened the official site.
Also, they tried to blur the image on the page more. That's pretty much a sign right there.

I used to go to the WTF-boards myself...haha...ha. I indeed stopped going soon after.
Yeah, Tales games are known most for their character development and that battle system, but I'm probably one of the few that like some of the stories they can craft.
ToD2? An abortion? I always thought that rank went toward Tempest. Even though I enjoyed it more than Symphonia. Goes to show they shouldn't do sequels, then. I'm looking at you, Knight of Ratatosk.
And fans want a sequel to Abyss. Tch.

Well, ataleoftworichards.com was indeed the answer. Go figure. Now we have what is apparently Day 1 of our wait.
And yeah, I mostly play Tales games for the battle system and characters. Though I'm still interested in Graces's story. Hopefully it's not a snore fest like Abyss or a completely messed up ending like Vesperia. Or Destiny 2 in its entirety.

Eh, I've played most the Tales (including most that didn't make it here) and I'd still say I like Abyss and Vesperia a fair amount. And I actually don't abhor Luke as a character. I play the Tales series primarily for the combat but that doesn't mean I don't want some story; it doesn't have to be stellar, just something remotely interesting so I want to see it end.
As for us getting ToG-Wii (or ToGf-Wii), the only source of that is some news site that has less-than-zero credibility. We do know that work was done localizing ToG Wii, yes, but all signs point to ToGf-PS3 since extra work shoehorning the content into the Wii version doesn't seem to make much sense. That said, at the very least it's fairly certain we're getting ToGf as the "f" in the logo is fairly obvious even after the recent re-blurring of the image.
Unfortunately, doesn't look like 8-4 is doing the localizing on it (or johntv is being coy on the issue to fuck with people~) ... which could mean it's in house (Magna Carta 2 T.T) or just lowest bidder (fuck ... Ignition). ojoy.
And, yes, the Tales fanbase for the most part is pretty terrible. Kind of a "thx for X but where's Y?" situation. I don't particularly blame them in some sense since the track record of getting Tales games is so hit-and-miss but, still, it's kind of fucking retarded.
But, pretty much every game company that has a spotty localizing record is like that. Hell, Atlus caught flak for the P3/P3:FES situation, though both games came anyway. Nintendo is in a weird situation with the "hey guyz, look XENOBLADE COMING LOL" and then dead silence on it ... and then the pseudo-confirmation that The Last Story is JP only (which is fucking weird as hell considering the vibe going into the development on it was trying to cater to Western tastes slightly to boost wordlwide sales).
I just hope that ToGf, at the very least, doesn't release at a bad time; Abyss released with FFXII and shortly before PS3/Wii launches and Vesperia came out on the cusp of the PS3 version rumors surfacing/announcement.
Edit: In other news, 12 AM CST tomorrow is the Sony PSP2 unveiling conference so hopefully we can find out more of some of these rumored specs (though, honestly, all I'm curious about is if it's really a 5" AMOLED multi-touch screen ... and probably some confirmation on the CPU/GPU/RAM count, I suppose).
Though, the big "spec" is the confirmed porting of some PS3 title to the PSP2 that runs at 60 FPS. The interwebz guessing game on the game for that is ridiculous right now >>
Also, I do believe the Catherine demo goes live tomorrow. /random
Edit: Day 2 of the "HEY GAIZ GRACES" an--wait, did they change the image again?
Oh well, it's not that...
...
Edittttt: Another change to the image, now complete with 2/2/2011 [hide]where they'll announce more news at E3[/hide].

Picked up Dead Space 2 yesterday. Gave multiplayer a whirl because eh, why the hell not if I have a free month of Xbox Live Gold xD?
After a couple hours of that, switched to single player. Started a new game on Normal after inputting the code I got to score a Rivet Gun at the first store I can find.
As for the difficulty...you know you fail it when you die to like the 3rd Necromorph you see. Isaac's in a strait jacket from the get go and it's about 5-10 minutes before you get a Plasma Cutter. Brilliant.
After that, it gets better. Hacking sequences are a little annoying. First one gives you stasis + an enemy that gets hit by stasis.
...Said enemy one shots you, even with full health. God damn them one hit kills are already starting xD.
One part was rather nasty. You get locked in the room and like 3-4+ Slashers come knocking. Pretty much have to use stasis so you don't get swarmed.
But wait, the best is yet to come!
*Reaches a huge room*
Me: "Yeah, something's gonna happen here."
*Brand new never before seen Necromorph appears*
Me: "OH GOD WHAT'S THAT OH CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!"
Basically, me getting nervous with this new enemy until it died. Running away doesn't really help. It just makes a big leap towards you otherwise.
Thankfully the end of the chapter was right after that.
At the start of chapter 2, I used the few power nodes I collected thus far to boost my max health (First node you can access in your RIG is a max HP booster. Hell yeah I'm taking that), boost the duration of stasis, and boost the damage on my plasma cutter (Curious as to how the refurbished Plasma Cutter you get with a Dead Space 1 save is).
I've got enough credits to pick up either the Line Gun or the Javelin Gun. Choices, choices.
