Disgaea 3 isn't out here yet. Which I find bothersome.

You know... I never managed to get a LV9999 character before. Is that even necessary?

For the main game? I beat it with a handful of 80s (which was still overkill I'd say). Post-game it's more necessary but not as much. That said, it takes longer to set everything up (ie, good equipment, access to LoC, unlocking maps) than levelling to 9999 ... which, when done right, is like an hour at best.

That said, the PS3 isn't region locked so you can always just import it or something.

No equipment puts your stats at 9999 to be at the ~1.3-1.5M mark which is definitely not enough to be killing Baal if I recall (then again, it was the easiest Baal ever so ... probably could be enough). Then again, Disgaea had a much lower stat cap in general (Reincarnation stats would make up ~8% of your final stats as opposed to like ... 3-4% in D2 or even less in D3) so meh. That and four attacks is a lot.

Sorry, I posted a lot on the Disgaea 1 and 2 boards and the amount of, "REINCARNATE YOU'LL DO BETTER" bullshit was annoying; sure, you'll have better stats but spending the same time making better equipment (or just leveling to get a better Armor Multiplier) had a FAR greater return than amassing Stored Levels to get a stat boost. You just won't get a good enough return to warrant bothering with it over the other options.

Still on Tales of Vesperia. Got to the Port town and ...

[spoiler]GATTUSO IS STILL A FUCKING BITCH HOLY SHIT. If you played the demo, he's still fucking assrape hard. Especially on hard mode (christ, ~63k HP?). I had to cave in and tone it down to Normal, where he has only has like 25k HP, to beat him. I felt like a failure.

Zagi #2 after that is pretty fucking rough too ... especially if you try to get the Secret Mission (more-or-less, knock him into the air with Up-B combos and then either Overlimit or hit him with some Arte with knockback to knock him off the boat). That and he has over 70k HP on Hard. And is a bitch with hard to block Artes and random-as-far-as-I-know targeting as he spent the entire fight running around beating on Rita and Repede and ignoring me and Estelle. Was weird.[/spoiler]

...is it sad that line is like ... my driving force right now to keep playing? That and Judith interests me from a combat perspective (aerial beast AND a Spear-user?). Weird though ... I've always hated Archers in the Tales games but I fucking love them otherwise (my uber "unit" in Disgaea is going to be my Archer duo >>).

Izuna 2: Leveling up in Mugen Castle before tackling the final dungeon (not counting the bonus dungeons of course). Izuna: 44, Shino: 46, Shizune: 46, Fuuka: 45, Suiren: 44.

My fiance is playing those Fable 2 pre-order pub games -_-;

At least the music is catchy.
