The Tower of Lost Souls, coupled with the character customization stuff you get from figuring out the challenges, make Soul Calibur IV worth the buy for me.

There is nothing like the detail of SCII's Weapon Master mode (or the detailed biography for each weapon) or the richness of SCIII's story mode, but it's still not necessarily a bad game.

However, as I get better at it, I am starting to realize how much I'd rather play other things. Soul Calibur's "8-Way Run" system is the best effort to make a true 3D fighter that I have seen, but ultimately I think I'd rather play Tekken or Virtua Fighter, and in a multiplayer setting I'd probably rather have a 2D fighter anyway.

The third one is definitely worth your time. There are things I like from every installment, but SCIII is my favorite. It has the most bang for your buck while keeping the charm of the earlier entries. But they did ruin Raphael for me.

^_^ If you loved PH you will really enjoy Spirit Tracks. I mean, there's no Lineback side character with you (instead you get a whiny, yet determined princess) but the puzzles are ten times better and there's no time limit in the tower. And the puzzles are just BETTER.

Not to mention the train is ten times better than driving a ship around. But then again, I love both games dearly and about the same. One has something the other doesn't. The only "bad thing" that could turn you off with the game is it's very easy to get an instant game over if you aren't careful when driving near Demon Trains. I dunno how many heart attacks I've nearly had at all the near misses.... or how frustrating it is to try to be pulling into a station and have one of them hit you JUST THEN. T-T Noooooooo I was here! I swear!

But then again, I love this element of it. :3 I think the challenge to get into the third dungeon is the best part of the whole game. Wheee~~
