The way I see it, for attributes, just get the stats to the minimum needed for the rank up, or for any better items you want, and then pump it into your primary stat.

So finished Act 1 of Dragon Age 2. [hide]onos Bethany[/hide] and then [hide]it's cool bro, she's a Grey Warden now[/hide] and then [hide]so then I took 3 years off to dick around[/hide]wait, WHAT THE FUCK?

God.

Also, the Act 1 boss was lolz easy I know it's supposed to be rough (friend doing it on his Nightmare DW Rogue file with a group of [hide]Varric, Anders, and Bethany[/hide] and having a bitch of a time) but it was honestly fairly easy for me. Warriors broken, potion abuse, etc.

Anyway...
[spoiler]Seriously, the game takes place over "10 years" is misleading as shit. It totally doesn't count when you're randomly skipping years. The first time skip was pointless and kind of felt like you robbed the player out of something (seriously, why wasn't the game 4 Acts at least with Act 1 being the making a name for yourself bit?) and this one is just puzzling.

Steamrolled through most of the start game, just getting my ass right about to do the events before getting the ship in Portoga, have about 2~ game hours clocked. Can't wait to go to Dharma Temple and get Kokomi to Sagehood.

Maxine, did you ever pick it up? I know we were both looking forward to the release but I couldn't remember if you'd pre-ordered and/or purchased it.

Also I've been looking around for a local, non-GameStop location to acquire video games due to my dissatisfaction with the workers at the GameStop location nearest my house, and furthermore I'm moving away from chains and more toward buying local whenever possible.

I'm going to buy that game after B/W

^_^ I got it for Xmas, Kino, but honestly, all of the other shinies have blinded me and I haven't given it the justice it deserves. I play it here and there, and I agree, it is SO much better. o_o I get stumped on a few of them occasionally.

Oh Update, this morning in phantom brave I was goofing around and o_o discovered titles! Went through and made a bunch of chars and acquired their titles. For one of them I got "ruined". o_O; Ehh? Which obviously did shit to my stats and then I was like "........ what if I attached that to a dungeon?" At first I kinda laughed to be able to take out level 7's and 9's with ease but obviously wasn't getting much exp for it. :3 I had my laugh and finished the map ready to reset my game and then the "score screen came up." O_O It awarded me the normal amount of exp I would have gotten! Sure it's not as much with what the enemies gave me in addition to, but... considering the effort I put in and that that was just floor 1/25.... AND I CAN LEVEL NEWBIES UP LIKE THAT!!!

:3 Went on the net to do more research and making sure there wasn't a draw back somewhere and discovered there's another title that does even better. *dances with glee* ^_^ Kehehehehe

....... I hope this doesn't count as breaking the game in some way? :\ but considering the 999 level cap, I doubt it.

I can't promise my info is the *best* as I'm a pretty mediocre player myself, but I have done my best to learn the ins and outs of this wonderful game. I could be wrong, but I would be willing to argue a few points here and there should someone challenge me.

But yeah, the best way to learn is to just listen to others and their conversations. I've learned more reading chats over the public channel and asking guild members random questions than searching online.

Cabal isn't the sort "we lost because of you" game, not in my opinion. Anyways I've never been in a party or a dungeon run where I didn't end up having a blast and coming out feeling very satisfied. There's not much to go on with it either. Either the party was strong enough to attack or they weren't. Either they pressed a button to attack or they didn't - and considering that dungeon entry items can be costly, chances are they are going to attack.

Still, I'm sure after you've played for a while you'll learn how things are and if you can enjoy and open up to others. I won't lie. Some people can be assholes on it (I can only speak for the NA version, though) but I've had a lot of great times on it.
