Finished Radiant Historia and if you have a DS and haven't played it, I probably hate you. Alright, it's not for everyone (lots of backtracking...sort of) but it's a very well done turn-based-esque jRPG that avoids some typical cliches, has a rather well done main character, and involves a time travel plot that isn't batshit loopy.
Harkens back to some 16-bit RPG days and, again, feels like they meshed FFVI's Steampunk world with Chrono Trigger's Time Travel and Suikoden's Political plot and blended the elements seamlessly with a well done combat system.
So started God[s]s[/s] Eater Burst and ... I dunno. I mean, gameplay wise it's fine. It's basically a more mobile Monster Hunter with a story. But the problem is ... this dub is terrible. Fuck, I made a female character STOP CALLING ME HE/HIM. Learn to say your OWN TERMINOLOGY CONSISTENTLY. NAMES, WHY DO YOU FUCK THEM UP?
But the intro is snazzy.

Overall, I'll probably put in way too many hours into it like I did with Monster Hunter and just cry every time a speaking scene occurs.
Also, started up [s]TitS[/s]Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky and put in like 8 hours before I realized it. And then noticed it took 8 hours to get out of the fucking Prologue. What the ... what. Similar to the Radiant Historia thing above, if you own a PSP and don't have this, I probably hate you.
A very charming game with that sense of adventure from games like Grandia or Lunar (and, really, fits in rather well with those two) with some humor thrown in (<3 the empty chests messages). Combat is straight up Grandia's system except with a Move command (and, well, a grid). Very wordy game, though. I mean, I'm 8 bloody hours in and I think all of like 5 things have happened, though most of that is me talking to everyone and sidequests.
Good musical score so far, too, though I honestly have no idea why the Opening wasn't vocalized when the "sitting here idle on the XMB" one is.

Good caster by the looks of it too. And I just figured out that the Bracer Notebook has the requirements for spells >> RTFM etc.
In other news, the embargo on Capcom's Captivate event ended today so ...
...
*shrugs* No MvC3, no Monster Hunter, no Mega Man, no Devil May Cry. Only two new games (notably Dragon's Dogma). Not much else to say.

Played the first chapter of DQIV and moving on to the second. I did get lost in a cave for, like, an hour until I looked up it online and realized I was really just going in circles and was supposed to have left an hour ago -___-; so smart...
