I didn't even have a PS2 when it came out.

To be honest, I think 99% of the reason anyone played the original was due to it coming with an MGS2 demo. Prior to word of mouth, anyway.

The intro is quite long and spoilery, isn't it? I like it, though.

More D&D last night.

A player in the group we hadn't met yet was there.

He was fucking awful. What a terrible neckbeard troll of a man.

He, at one point, literally sprawled himself on the floor like a beached whale and began to fart. Not just one fart, which could be excusable, but several farts. Like he felt the urge and just went with it, not even caring about the other people in the room.

He talked over people when they were trying to ask the DM questions or take their turn. He'd try to ask if you'd seen some anime/stand-up/whatever while you were trying to play the fucking game and at one point I literally shushed him.

Like Mr Kino and I are talking about not playing with this group anymore if he continues to show up. The DM's a sweetie, his roommate's a cool guy, the girls are a bit flighty with it but ultimately nice and agreeable -- but this guy.

Jesus christ, man.

And he's buddies with the other not-so-socially-intelligence dude, who is tolerable because he's ultimate a nice guy even if he gets a little too into it and is a little too obsessed with his paladin character's lawful-good alignment -- like to the point of interfering with Mr Kino's neutral-evil character's plans, which is irksome but whatever.

But this guy, this new guy, this.... horrible troll.

But my character got her first trial of real combat today and I'm pleased with the results. I think I have a good spread of spells. I love all my wicked debuff spells, and a lot of my spells last for several rounds or minutes so they keep doing damage. At one point we wanted to catch someone alive and interrogate them, so I cast Painstrike (fortitude save with a DC 19 to resist) which is 1d6 nonlethal damage for 6 rounds plus the target is sickened and we got a +4 intimidate bonus against the guy, so Mr Kino's character got a 36 for intimidate and we got all the information we needed. HOORAY!

Also my cat is cute.

99% love my character because she gets to have a cat.

That guy sounds more annnoying than my friend who had a vampire character 3 years ago. After we killed it, the vampire came back as a skeletal vampire. We killed that two years ago. IT's been gone for a loooong time and guess what happens, while we were in some catacombs underneath a mansion: Skele-vamp's ghost comes back to haunt us. =_= How redudantly undead can a character be?

What edition are the Kinos playing?

And reincarnation is technically similar to unlimited undeath.

We're playing Pathfinder.

I'm a witch and he's a summoner. We joined at level 6; the DM runs it so that the whole group shares EXP and we all level up together. As of last night we're just shy of half-way to level 7 I think.

*mutters* I keep toying with the idea of getting the newer Dissidia game but every time I play the demo of Dissidia I feel that I play ... VERY VERY horribly. -_-; I should probably leave it alone. *sigh*
