I am with Kimiko. It is dull, uninteresting, depressing and just "look, a another ravaged terrain". A world of ruin is something that I grew tired of maybe like five years ago. Which is not to suggest I cared for that sort of thing even then. It just makes the theme all the more tiresome and mundane. Plus points if it has extra brown, grey, and up-turned broken girders prodding out at every corner.

even if a post-apocalyptic story is about the inspiring tenacity of humanity, it still has an oppressive and drab atmosphere that affects how you feel while exploring it

I'm more confused at the idea that post-apocalyptic is underdone.

Post-apocalyptic can be really cool when done properly.



Need more inspiration, less brown wastelands.

Also, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is pretty cool. Better than most, I'd say.

Add some bloom and you're all set!
