<3 So the feelings are mutual across the board.

EOIII classes just seem like they are trying too hard to be impressive. I mean, at the full extent, I guess it is just about the greater half that seem this way. That is still a lot considering you need to assemble at least five of them and the classes that are not stupid in design and concept seem uncharismatic in the art direction. Even just the expression and demeanour of the EOI&II classes, feel as if they are easy to fall in love with. Which is a bit important, when you are going to be seeing them a lot on this very long journey.

The way the game actually plays is a bit secondary to this. There are so many great new features, like Combat Study and some supplementary questing outside of the main story (though I have gripes with the way they handled this), but just the way everything felt in the predecessor titles is more captivating. Also, as often as subclassing can make a character more interesting, if you take a lot of the cool combinations that you would like to see (such as a Princess with Gladiator abilities), this can be overwhelming detrimental to your journey and you may feel that you need effective yet awkward subclasses to progress. You know, if the Zodiac was not awkward enough, now they are apparently a Gladiator/Arbalist as well. That makes total sense. In EOI and II, if I really like a character and I want them in my guild, they always have a place even if the other classes are a bit stronger. It does not feel like this at all in EOIII. :[

It is nice to know more feel this way as well. Except you, scy. You are a jerk and you should be ashamed of yourself for having different views and expectations than myself. Shame on you.

Even so, I really should finish it. After I finish OoT MasterQuest and then Skyward Sword...

I am a terrible person, it is very much true.

That said, you're right. Balance isn't quite the right word. I more meant the classes in relation to the enemies throughout the game. EO3 does that balance very well. There's issues among the classes themselves in terms of min/max but, at the same time, it is just the fact that some classes have innate class-based multipliers that cannot be replicated. Discounting those, however, the classes compare across the board fairly well.

As for your Princess/Gladiator example, it works fairly well, actually. Except that the combination fails due to the time restriction. Prince(ss) is a busy class as is and giving them another busy class doesn't really help them.

EO3 gives the most variety and options out of the class pool; EO1 is really limited, EO2 gives some more options but there's still glaringly obvious choices on many things and a few just bad classes, and EO3 gives viable alternates for basically everything with only some meta choices on bad (Wildling due to status mechanics, Combat Farmer due to lack of anything useful).

As for EO1 vs EO2 vs EO3 class coolness, aesthetics, and so on ... I like EO3 more than the prior two, but I also don't think about it as much as basically everyone here. EO3's sailing was stupid, though, and felt like it detracted from the experience overall; stratum design was alright at best but none of the stratums really stood out as anything but that's mostly due to all of it really being done before minus the 5th Stratum's ... and that was more annoying than anything else. EO3 class changes and mechanics changes are the standouts; the general progression (i.e., actual exploration) through the game doesn't really make an impact for me this time around.

Anyway, on another subject, fucking Skyrim man. Fucking Skyrim. Master difficulty for my first run and doing a Stealthy Archer ... god, some of these fights are just ridiculous. Some Sneak Attack abuse is possible but man, enclosed quarters with high level enemies I can't sneak abuse are just ridiculous. Worse yet, having an AI partner that engages without me removes my Sneak Attack bonus so sniping dudes isn't as effective anyway.

About to run off to explore and just let the visuals (fucking beautiful scenery) sink in while I wander about looking for random dungeons to clear and so-on.

I got Skyrim, my character is a lizardman mage assassin character, I named him Rathalos, because he resembles one.

I have no idea at all on how to solo a with my build on Master :/

I guess I'll just have to come back later or something. Takes me forever to drop random enemies (Giants, for instance) much less one of them. Sheesh.

....

Maybe it's time I spend my like 6 stored perk points on some Archery buffs...

My FPS skills have deteriorated, hitting a flying one is nigh impossible. Even if I did, it's something around 1% of their life. The issue is that, on the ground, they're faster than me and one-shot at melee range with their execution and their breath is a one-shot as well. So ... yeah. It definitely just feels like a case of "I'll come back later" for this.

I kite like a world-class champ; I've done it for like the past 13 years or something. Kiting this is is rough.

And no spells. Not going that route for this character, barring maybe Illusion-esque stuff.

Breath should go through walls and the Dragons are pretty mobile themselves. Exploiting their pathing may work on them but the range on their breath makes it a bit rough. The Dragon in particular is one that touches down in a rather wide open field and, without the upper-end Archery perks, the draw time is too long to safely fire at it.

Really, though ... I only tried a few times with sub-30 Archery and a pure Stamina dump level gain so I'll probably be more able to do it now with around 60 and a few tiers up in a Bow. Maybe.

And arrow count really isn't an issue. Pickpocket has me at like 400+ Steel Arrows without effort.

^ Oh, I know. Well, not in practice obviously, but from what I gather, Enchanting is maybe the single skill I'll pay most early attention to. There's almost no build that doesn't benefit from it.
As for level counts, guess I'm just in the mindset that a distance in grinding is no distance at all.

Yeah, Magicka seems to be handed out like candy, even for non-Altmer. Which of course makes some sense, as you can spend it quickly too.

Other loose thoughts: Maxing out Magic Resist looks fairly uncomplicated. Still not sure if full physical resist is possible.
Just weird that Light Armor characters end up in a better place by going Heavy Smithing due to Daedric weapons vs Glass, while Dragon opens up top tier Light armours anyway. I think I'm still missing something there, other than "improve armours earlier". Maybe Glass gets something special. Shrug.*

What do the dragons do other than insane range? Any cheap stagger combos and whatnot?

*Edit: Well, one less perk cost, I guess.
