Image is a broken link for me. Most hotlinked images are that way.
But the link worked ^^ Yes, that's her with little Scarlet. So cute. I love in the movie when you see, her briefly... it helps place the movie within the storyline. And I love that after the movie the Goddesses kept their way cool new battlesuits for the manga. So cool <3
;__; I forgot how dear to me this series is. I really need to get caught up on the manga.
AHHH LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

Kimiko, I didn't like the TV series. I did not enjoy it in the least bit. I only watched the first five episodes (the first DVD. I was very excited for the release, bought it the day it came out, and then immediately gave it away to a friend) but I just did not like it. I felt it betrayed the nature of the manga. The manga has a great element of comedy and whackiness, which I just did not get from the TV series, and I felt like the characters were reduced to one-dimensional shadows of their former selves.
I can't compare the OVA and movies to the TV series, but I can recommend them:
The first OVA just tells the story of how Belldandy comes to live with Keiichi.
The second and third OVA introduce Skuld and Urd, much as they were introduced in the manga.
The fourth and fifth (last) OVA have a storyline revolving around Keiichi's attempt to buy Belldandy a ring, which is found in the early manga. However, the OVA adds a twist to the plot that is not mentioned in the manga and involves Keiichi's childhood. It's very dramatic and everything, but they're good. The 5 OVA could stand alone as an introduction to the series as as a self-contained story arc.
The movie takes places much later, chronologically. It occurs while Keiichi is still in school, so not too late in the series. It has a self-contained story arc. It probably helps to be at least familiar with the characters before watching the movie, but I wouldn't call it essential. The movie is gorgeous and beautiful and I love it. It was the first DVD I ever bought, incidentally, and the art blew me away.
Anyway, the movie is awesome. It even has Peorth! (I love Peorth) There are some slight changes to the manga canon, but for the most part it is very faithful to Fujishima's universe.

Ah I see. *checks as well* So the OVA eps. 4 and 5 and the movie are not covered by the TV series, but otherwise the series are more comprehensive. Hmm, I may have to get all of them then after all.

Heh, I loved the movie. Especially that song near the end, when all the goddesses sing together:
Coro Di Dea (megami tachi no utagoe)
Felicitas cum amicis communicata est
Tristitia est communis dolor cum omnibus amicis
Per aspera vita beata est
Causa vivendi omnibus
Invenire credere magni momenti
Fores aperiendi
Fores aperiendi
Tempus est
Certe

Oh... also, I don't know what video you put up, Kino, since I can't view Youtube here... so... I hope I didn't 'double post' the clip...
