I'm sick of seeing Vegeta/Goku every time I see his "new" character art XD




...but I still think Dragon Quest is better than Final Fantasy by a long shot.

I don't really understand why Dragon Quest isn't nearly as huge as it should be. Yes, it's huge, but not FF huge at all.

I'm kind of relieved to see that I'm not the only one irritated by Toriyama's style enough to not play games with character designs by him that I would otherwise play.

Lol. Is there anyone here who likes Toriyama's character designs?

I would like to try one of those Dragon Quest games though. I want to see what the hype is about.

From what I see, the hype is that they have remained faithful to what people like about console RPGs. Final Fantasy has attempted to redefine itself with every entry since 7.

I like Toriyama's style because it is iconic. The world of the original Dragon Ball was bursting with charm and personality, right down to those silly bubble houses.

But that was his world. Stuff like Dragon Quest and Blue Dragon isn't his world.

Chrono Trigger was one game I really liked despite the art style. I just accepted it after a while.

Many things about the kitsune is mercurial, from their moods to their treatment of humans, to even the abilities some possess. Kitsune have a depth of personality as deep or even deeper than those of other Japanese characters. The reason for this, according to one source, is that the kitsune is the Trickster, in Japanese culture. They are there to teach those around them lessons.
