Never heard of it before, where would you watch movies like that? Would you just be able to find them on the internet or something?

Illegally, yeah :x
Miyazaki movies are in most DVD stores. I mean, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Ponyo all came out in theaters around here.

Oh, I didn't know it would be illegal.
They didn't come out in theaters here, and I've never seen them for sale in a store. Does that mean watching anime online is illegal too? Because Naruto for example, does not play on TV, and it would take forever for it all to come out on DVDs.

It's illegal to watch something online if it's been licensed in America, unless it's being provided by the owner of that license. For example, Eden of the East is licensed by Funimation, so it would be illegal to download that. However, if you go to Funimation's youtube page, they stream some episodes for free. That is legal.
Downloading anime or music that is licensed in your country is basically stealing.
But, Naruto doesn't play on TV? Don't you live in Canada? It should be on Teletoon.

I do live in Canada, but it does not play on Teletoon. Not Shippuden anyway, it plays random episodes very rarely, and out of order. So its illegal to watch it online? Well, I guess you learn something new everyday, but that really sucks.

Only time I feel it's justified is when the corporation won't bring it over. XP Besides, without the theives corporations wouldn't know what's good. I mean, I watched Baccano! back when NOBODY heard of it. The following year, it gets dubbed.

Meh, im pretty straight-laced through and through, but I had no idea it was illegal, especially since that's the only way to view it here. No DVDs, no stores, not on TV.
