You can also link to off-site hosted avatar like I did with my Mio one, that was significantly over the limit.

It's incredibly subtle, yes, but... o_O I still think "kinda obvious" especially when that image is set to the background of one of those colors (I believe the first one) and shows when it's on the second color.

No, I averaged the two colors actually. The image's background is #136656. Or at least it was before jpeg compression messed things up.
