I always thought trap = specific anime/manga character type, somewhat congruous to the way "Shota" or "loli" can demean certain characters or series. We would call these "pedophilia" in the real world, or perhaps "pederast" or "catamite" if you were feeling especially historical about it.

I would never think to call a human a trap. Genderqueer is a term I've heard used for those who don't quite fit our one-or-the-other idea of gender. Transsexual, as I understand it, is a term used more for one who has had surgery or otherwise re-assigned their gender. Transgender is a more mild term, for those who have not had surgery or feel it unnecessary; they're still boys, but self-identify as girls (or vise-versa). Transvestites merely adopt the clothing and styles of the other gender, but still self-identify with their own; Eddie Izzard, who wears girls clothes but is a heterosexual man, is an example of this. Drag queens are their own little niche of genderqueer culture, same as drag kings. The intersxed can refer to those whose sexual organs aren't quite one-or-the-other; the slightly more vulgar term is hermaphrodite.
