Paprika is a movie by Satoshi Kon, who also did Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Perfect Blue. He also did the series Paranoia Agent, which I haven't seen.
Paprika is my least favorite of his films, but it is absolutely gorgeous.

Basic summary: technology exists in which therapists can enter their patients' dreams. It's confined to a research laboratory, but one doctor, Atsuko, has begun illegally treating patients using her dream-alter ego "Paprika." The technology escapes the lab and is starts to be used for more nefarious purposes. Atsuko, Paprika, and her Detective patient must find a way to stop it.

Hrrrm, not sure I like the art but there's something about it at the same time... like Escaflowne... it's so abnormal that it's beautiful in its own way. I'm very intrigued, otherwise.
