I need to watch two episodes of Hidamari Sketch for every one episode of Higurashi, to balance out the D: with the

and I haven't even started higurashi ep 2

seriously it is like LOL HAPPY FUNNY CUTE HAPPY HAPPY LOL and then fucking BAD END

so then I watch hidamari sketch because, for the life of me, I cannot watch an episode for the first time without grinning for at least the whole thing

<3 I love Higurashi.

Seriously, it's the only anime that you catch the first 30 seconds of the first episode and instantly decide if it's the right anime for you.

man this ONE image got me intrigued by yandere so I had to check out higurashi

I am gonna watch like the first 4 episodes and then see if I can handle this shit

I like my anime to be uplifting, you know

Then you aren't going to find it in the first 4 episodes. That's just one arc.

Then you hit another 4 episode arc.

Then a 4.

Then a 5.

Then a 2. <-- prologue

Then a 6. <-- which gives more info on two of the arcs.

Then a 5. <-- and more info on one of the arcs...

And then you get the second season which finally all the crap is... resolved.... o_O; and you MIGHT get the uplifting story you want.

You're watching the first season then? There is also a two episode special, and the new season (Hidamari Sketch × 365) has 13 eps. Season 2 has been subbed up to ep. 10 now I think.

Right now, I'm watching Kannagi. It's pretty good but nothing outstanding. I like the OP and ED songs, though...they're very different.

Started reading Kurogane no Linebarrel ... and will now probably keep up with the anime. Seems standard mecha but a bit darker (the few deaths in the first volume were ... well, gruesome).

[spoiler]...Kouichi is such a dick. Also, the vast amount of female characters that may-or-may-not throw themselves after him is approaching H-Game levels (seriously ... it's like 1 per Volume).

Anyway ... v5 will probably be a stopping point for the first arc for the anime. Will be interesting to see it animated if nothing else. That said, I'm a bit sad at the Kouichi x Kizaki thing being so ... well, shallow (or, rather, pretty much flips from loathing him to more-or-less loving him in like ONE conversation). That's the only real main gripe I guess ... some of the relationships are just shallow; every female starts off hating him until his one line to them where they instantly warm up and <3 him.

...though, the Kizaki one isn't THAT bad since it has underlying circumstances (...you know, the whole her killing him thing) for her initial reaction but god damn ... she warms up a bit fast even if she was more-or-less pretending to hate him (well, sort of; she did loathe him but not totally! Or something like that).[/spoiler]

Thoughts: If you don't like actiony stuff, just avoid this; otherwise, it's not so bad. Also, if nothing else, Kugimiya Rie in YET ANOTHER ANIME this season as she voices one of the other Factors (Hint: TRAP). A few other recognizable voices as well for pretty much all the leads.

Next: Shikabane Hime and then catching up on stuff I've forgotten about (Soul Eater, Fairy Tail). Oh boy.

Edit: Finished v1 of Shikabane Hime ... uh ... graphic? Also, Makina is cute?

She uh ... plays a weird role.
