I'm sorry, but the second image is wonky. I like the original art style the best.

I've actually never looked at the manga art style (which is what I'm guess you're getting the "original art style" from).
And, actually, in the anime, they rarely/never make her "naked" for the simple purpose of fan service. Which is what made it enjoyable. She's naked just 'cause... she's a wolf god! SHE'S A HUGE WOLF GOD!

What "is" a light novel? I've never bothered to look it up - and now you tell me it comes with illustrations. Max is confused <_<

well you really should know this but
basically it's a japanese novel (usually aimed at teens and young adults) that occasionally has pictures tossed in.
This is an awful, awful thing to say, and my writing teacher would hit me, but it's basically a manga in narrative form <_>
I highly recommend the Haruhi light novels (SOURCE MATERIAL), but if you can't stomach the horrible translation of most of them, the first one comes out in America in April. Think about this, the main story of the anime Haruhi was taken from one book, and the remaining episodes were shorter stories taken from a couple others. There are 10 books >___________________>

*nods* yeah, Kimiko. ^_^; I've looked at that crappy article before.
But why's it called a "light novel". Tch, Bridge to Terribithia had pictures tossed in but we aren't called IT a light novel.

they call it "raito noberu" because they are silly japanese people and they are aimed at younger people. They even use furigana (kanji with subtitles to tell them youngins how to pronounce it). The term does not yet exist in america. The only light novels I see are just called "novels." Like...CHIBI VAMPIRE: THE NOVEL.
