Ponyo is a great film

. I was naughty and downloaded a (very badly) fansubbed version months ago. I can't wait for the official release as normally Ghibli dubs aren't bad at all

.
The Earthsea Quartet is a great set of books Kino. Well worth the read.

Hayate no Gotoku ("Said in the US, Season Two") ending song is <3. Hinagiku~~
Seems like they picked up with a major story plot. Intriguing.
Now I only need to watch the other like 30 episodes for the start of the Spring Season that I've missed ... T.T

I watched a miniseries on TV that was called Earthsea. It was HORRID. Of course, I realize that books > movies. Still... the magic didn't seem the kind I liked if it was any decent representation. ^_^ But I'd still probably pick it up.

The Earthsea books are great. AFAIK they've never been properly made into movies/anime, only failed attempts.

I'd like to take the time to point out the irony of two anime only episodes starting off Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ... which was supposed to be a more faithful adaptation of the manga.
...huh.
Okay, technically Episode 2 wasn't really "anime only" since it takes events you learn about as time progresses throughout the manga (really, during the first Volume).
I really liked the first two episodes, can't wait for the next one.
I wouldn't know about how faithful it is/will be, 'cause I didn't read the manga.
Also can't wait for the next ep of One Piece. I really love that series.
Poor Hacchan though, getting shot.
At least Luffy broke that promise and gave that bastard (forgot his name, the one with the running nose) a good punch.
Still don't know what to think of Dragonball Kai. Only seen the first ep, and it wasn't that more special then the original one.

Fullmetal
They're completely original. Unless an Ice Alchemist was introduced recently in the Manga (like, chapters 90+), he doesn't even exist. The fact they showed Kimbley tells me they're going pretty far in the plotline though since he doesn't show up in the manga until like ... well, really fucking far.
Second episode is more-or-less taken from the first volume where bits and pieces are explained of the brother's past. The failed transmuation, the automail, training under Izumi, etc.
Edit: oops, first four volumes. You learn a LOT in Episode 2 >>.
As for the third episode, it's pretty faithful. I mean, it STARTS THE EXACT SAME (line for line) with one exception (skips the one page showing the failed transmuation). I will note that Cornello never transmutates himself and the ring merely disintegrates after he tries to re-transmute the gun that Ed slices in half. That little fight scene with the mutated Cornello never occurred in the manga (sort of; he does transmute the stone into GIANT HAND but it isn't against a Chimera Cornello).
I don't mind episodes 2 and 3 (episode 2 is a great backstory intro, though it should've been after episode 3 imo) but I find the 1st episode randomly creating the Ice Alchemist and having the boys meet Hughes and Armstrong there a bit weird. That and it makes for some weird "wait what" on why Episode 1 has them in Central and then Episode 3 has them leaving Lior for ... Central, though I guess they went to Lior during Episode 2 for some reason.
HOWEVER, the preview for next week seems to COMPLETELY SKIP YOKI. I know he's a terrible excuse of a side character but he's pretty much everywhere in the story after a certain point. Kind of dumb to remove him. Oh well. Means we get to Shou much sooner though...
One Piece
That arc is pretty epic, not going to lie. I still need to go see some of the big fights (CP9 for example!) animated.
About to start some more shows (Valkyria ep2+, 07-Ghost right now probably) so ... wheee....

@ One Piece: oooh, then you're in for a nice surprise. Those battles are epic (though some of them are plain silly).
*sigh*
So many new series. So very little time... I've got about 1.2 Gig of anime still to watch...

I got a 750GB drive dedicated to my anime >> Only using about half of it now so I guess it'll last me another year or so of seasons (less if I keep replacing shows with their Blu-ray versions T.T 22GB on Gundam 00 Season 1).
I've read the fights so I doubt they'll surprise me much. Just want to skip the boring parts I've read over-and-over already and see stuff happen.
GIRAFFE
Edit: Too lazy for screen caps...
Valkyria (Episode 2)
I actually like the diversion from the game path. I mean, the OUTCOME is the same (all-out retreat from Bruhl) but the events leading up to it give more of a sense of "yeah we're fucked yo." In the game, I just ran through the early missions and destroyed what you come up against.
I really enjoyed the fact the "NO DON'T GO THAT VEHICLE BLAHBLAH" rescue mission didn't end in, "lol yay saved" and instead had him get fucking owned and dying. I'm also a terrible person.
Also, Alicia is <3. Susie is <3 ... when she's not fainting constantly.
Edit:
07-[s]BISHIES[/s]Ghosts (Episode 1-2)
More pretty boys than you can shake a stick at. Thanks to the title and the fucking eye catch, I keep expecting someone to randomly [s]assrape[/s] die.
I think Teito and the church is going to end in some guy-on-guy sex. Or maybe I'm just a horrible twisted person. LET SOMEONE DIE OR SOMETHING JESUS CHRIST.
Also, they have reached their pretty boy quota in two episodes.
Also, according to the ending song, there is one (well, maybe two depending on one of Ayanami's troop) female. I don't count the Sisters since they're probably more interested in the Priests violating poor Teito.
Also, WHAT THE FUCK A MERMAID.
Space for Anime (and other style cartoons):
1x 80G
3x 250G
2x 320G
Only got a bit of space left on one of the 320 G's
Some of the older series are way large because of the, then, bad encoding, so that's also a reason why it takes up so much space. I mean, Sailor Moon (all seasons) takes up about 5G, Ranma1/2 uses 3.5G. Tom & Jerry (yeah, not anime, I know) takes up about 7G
Then again, some of the more recent codings ain't so hot either. My whole batch for Slayers Revolution has each episode at about 350 meg. Though that's with 720p and it's worth it. I normally connect my FullHD-television to my laptop as 2nd monitor, and then it looks sooo friggin nice :3
I have to make a side-note: most of the anime I've got, I have double. That's because of the subs being hardcoded on 'em, and I want to watch without subs most of the time, so I've also got raw downloads of most.
Hmmm, only read the One Piece manga up untill they reach the Baratie. Once I get more money to spend, I'll buy more of these.
