If nothing else, I picked up FMA around the same time I was looking for an epic-length shounen series and it stood out from those ... though I ended up just following all of their weeklies (Bleach, One Piece, Prince of Tennis, and, to a lesser extent, Naruto ... which I've now decided to just marathon the manga from when I stopped to conclusion whenever that occurs).
[spoiler]I'd like to say that I don't think Konomi, the mangaka of Prince of Tennis, understands the point of monthly serialization. NEW Prince of Tennis (lazy title?) is now monthly instead of weekly yet they are STILL short chapters and not the epic sized ones from, say, FULL METAL ALCHEMIST. If I'm waiting a month per chapter, I want more than like 13 pages. Bah.[/spoiler]

Hope there's something still left for him romance wise with her.
Also, cute little Minori crushing on Ryuuji moment with the guilt line. And Ami looks absolutely fucking amazing in her santa suit from the preview.
Despite all this, I'm still beyond pro Ryuuji x Taiga but so much <3 for Ami. Still don't like Minori much at all. And Kitamura x Kanou was cute and should've had something (I DUNNO A LETTER TO HER IN AMERICA?!). Just find her breaking down in the fight with Taiga to have been rather heartfelt (albeit cliche for the tough girl persona) about her wanting to be an "idiot" like Taiga who can confess and tell him what she wants most is to love him too and for him to follower her to America ... and all he does when he hears it is BOWS AND SAYS THANK YOU. WHAT.
Also, Kugimiya Rie's cute girl voice doesn't really work for Taiga at all. It's so ... distracting. Oh and ... Taiga's white winter coat look is cute.
...also, the fanservice dream of Haruta's was weird though it was just using Kawashima and some of the other girls as fanservice.[/spoiler]

I feel bad for saying awesome to that since it was her breaking down and crying and then chasing after him screaming his name to no avail (well, except for doing it all in front of Minori who realized what she had to do).
T.T SO TOUCHING.
I still feel sad for Ami who realizes that Ryuuji likes Minori on the surface but really treasures Taiga ... and despite all this still fell for him. And her adorable "...and give me another chance" T.T

...it keeps pointing towards a Ryuuji x Taiga finish yet with 5 episodes left, both haven't even come to the self-realization of liking the other (though I guess Taiga has since that was pretty much the point of Episode 19's end).
It isn't that long of a series (25 episodes) and with the way the romance is working, it doesn't really feel that drawn out. Maybe some of the early episodes where NO PROGRESS TOWARDS ANY COUPLE AT ALL was made but once the Kitamura x Kanou thing went, it's been a spiral. Though I suppose the Ryuuji x Ami one broke the earliest (not counting the first Kitamura and Taiga confession) but it's been a reoccurring thing of her to tell him he needs to give her another try over Minori ... though she supports Taiga anyway. Bakachi indeed T.T[/spoiler]

Kind of want more development on why Ryuuji doesn't do anything when he knows Taiga likes him and even he has realized he likes her ... I mean, is it really because she's doing so much for his sake with Minori and that she's doing so much to "hide" her feelings that he'll go along with it and believe they're not there? Seems weird. Dunno.

...plus the weird fistbump kiss after it.

AND BOO FOR MAKING YASUKO CRY. Ryuuji's outburst is seemingly random ... quit forcing your failures on me? Huh? I dunno. She really just seemed to not want him to fail like her. I suppose it is like making him accomplish what she couldn't but it takes a rather pessimistic view to turn that into forcing your failure onto him. I get his view that he thinks he's bringing down Yasuko by being born but ... it all adds up to not "forcing her failures" onto him so much as ... well, helping him avoid failing like she did.
"No matter who you like ... no matter who you spend your life with ... I DON'T CARE! I just want to be able to see you, Takasu Ryuuji! That's why ... that's why you can't say things like 'If only I had never been born!' *tackles him ... off the bridge*"
Also, Ryuuji has the strangest proposal in the world. I'll run away ... run and run and run until I turn 18 ... and then ... MARRY ME TAIGA. Wait, what. I agree with the reaction of their friends. "huh? WHAAAAAAAAAAAA?" Then you know, giving them their life savings and Ami's Villa is kind of weird.
T.T at Ami wanting to hear from Ryuuji that he loves Taiga to set her free. It's not explicitly stated that's why she wants to hear it but it so fits her character. Minori crying for having Taiga take Ryuuji / Ryuuji taking Taiga is sad; Ami ... having no change fits her. 'No matter how strong her willpower, she still broke down from being dumped by both Takasu and Taiga."
RUNNING AWAY FROM HOME AS A PRE-FINALE EPISODE CONFUSES ME. YASUKO RUNS AWAY TOO. THIS ... BIZARRE. HEAD HURTING. And then the doubts at the end of "If I run away, even after my birthday ... I'm still a child."

Riza's fight with Envy was neat though kind of weird after the whole "but bullets don't work on them" deal. I guess Envy was less "armored" than the small fry homunculus.
The fight vs Sloth is going about as well as I'd guess for the Armstrong duo. Wonder how long before they get back-up from someone worth a damn. I suppose Izumi may make it there but she's rather far away I' assume. Who knows. The Armstrong duo will probably die to Sloth at the rate they're going by themselves however.[/spoiler]
