I liked School Rumble ... until the addition of a billion extra characters, love polygons of obscene size for half the cast, and so on. What started as satire ended up being a ridiculous love-comedy that it was originally mocking.
Not to mention a god awful Manga ending.
It's still rather tongue in cheek but it does so through reductio ad absurdum (oh god I rarely get to use this!). It points out the flaws through dragging the notion to an absurb conclusion >> Tries to point out the ridiculousness of love polygons but does it through use of love polygons of its own ... and they're absolutely ridiculous. Pretty much every person in the series likes someone who in turn likes someone else who in turn likes someone else who ... and so on. ugh.
Though, for what it's worth, I only read like 11-12 volumes and then the ending since a friend pointed out how fucking terribad it was.
"Concludes" by not concluding. Oh fucking boy.
I'm still oh so pro Harima x Eri >>
It's kind of like Yakitate! Japan which started off hilarious but the final arc was a villain of the week dumbness
